I think if more players were properly using engineers as they were meant to be used there wouldn’t be a need to increase the amount. I think building engineers structures could be buffed from +4 points to maybe +8 points to encourage engineers to build more.
While on the topic of engineers, They could definitely use more buildable structure types. Like large sandbags for example. It’s in the editor, and through mods it’s possible to build them This is something that should be brought to the core game. I would give the large sandbags a limit of 5. Because they’re twice the size of a normal sandbag structure. We could also use buildables for wood that can be placed over door frames, destroyable with enough small arms fire and not requiring TNT or explosive packs. This would mainly be to slow the enemy down and give reaction time. Something as simple as wooden structures for drs and windows would be a limit of 6.
Large sandbag walls cost 150% of the normal sandbag cost so only 50% more. Wooden structures would cost 2 building materials.
Wow. Great job. I subscribe to your ideas. I will add that the player should be able to choose in the menu whether, for example, he wants 5 large sandbags or 10 small ones. The same with barbed wire and anti-tank barriers.
I can see how some of the sandbag types can mess with map flow but the taller sandbags definitely shouldn’t. But that also entirely depends on where it allows the player to build them. First thing that comes to mind is building the sandbag with a cutout hole over a doorway or window in a building. Which depending on how it’s used can be abused by a team, not much different from how Some teams already. They can completely lock down the first objective for the entire game leaving a attacking team zero chance to capture it. It would take playing with hit boxes to know their exact dimensions and where they’re able to be placed.
Can you justify your answer, or did you just write something like - I don’t know, but I will say?
I don’t agree with you, because if it were like that, people would only play as engineers. Many of their advantages don’t count when they have to attack.
They would play with entire teams of engineers if they were op. An engineer in another infantry unit is missing half of the construction menu. So your opinion is false.
