More effective smokescreens

Does anyone use smoke grenades in their games?
I am not using it because I am not satisfied with the shielding effect or the sustained effect.
I think the smoke grenade needs a little enhancement to make it more realistic and effective. Make the range of the smoke effect much larger vertically and horizontally and make it last for about 30 seconds.
Mortar smoke is more effective than smoke grenades. However, given the cost of only being available to special classes, I think their smoke capabilities should also be enhanced.
Also, smoke from radioman is not practical.

Smoke grenades.
Assault and rifleman units can carry them and use them as appropriate. It is the easiest to use, but its shielding effect is very low and wears off quickly. I myself rarely use it.
The smoke stays on the ground like dry ice. It is barely big enough to hide one or two people and not enough to support an entire unit’s assault.
The smoke would expand and animate over time to more effectively hide the soldiers running from behind it.

Smoke screen by mortar
You can put up smoke that has some utility, but the motor class is a support team. To take advantage of this, they need to work closely with their assault and rifleman allies.

Smoke screen by Radioman
You can specify the area over which smoke is dropped, but the smoke only falls sparsely and only covers a small area.
Not very useful and has a cooldown cost.

Have you tried using tank smoke shells I find them rather effective especially on Mosscow maps where there are river crossings, though a buff to smoke effect and grenades would be fine maybe it will make me run them on soviets

I think the smoke screen was more of smoke screen when it was first released and then they changed how smoke in general looks like probaly but yeah smoke screen definitely needs to be changed so that it cover an area better with the smoke.

I would have preferred the smoke cloud to be thinner but cover more space so that it would be possible to see through it, but it was difficult.

currently the smoke cloud is too concentrated and small, it looks strange.

kinda skill issue from your part. try to not use the entire full length you were given, and you have a very thick smoke screen. that said, the cooldown is a bit annoying ye.

beside the lifespan of the smoke (the ingame one is way shorter), i personally think the ingame and IRL smoke grenade create similar enough amount of smoke.
