More durable MG-s

I think if an attacker team knows what they are doing, and shoot down all the MG-s in D-day map it can be a very easy victory for them. If they dont know what they are doing, the following wouldn’t concern them at all.
The idea is to make the MG-s more durable, for example taking up more hits before broking, or they could be destroyed not by bullets, but by explosives, tank shells, mortars, and bigger caliber rifles or other HE things that were designed for taking down MG nests.
What do you guys think about it, both as german and american players?

As a Axis player who really enjoys using those MGs I’m against this suggestion. MG nests used to be much more powerful when they were first introduced and then were nerfed in CBT. It should stay that way - you get a lot of firepower and ability to dominate the battlefield. But there is also a risk involved - good sniper can take you out with one shot.
There are a lot of prebuilt MGs, so if you loose one you can always find another. And by unlocking Engineer II squad you get ability to put down your own MG nest in your desired position.

Well that is a good point, I did not know they were nerfed,

Yeah, at first introduction you needed at last 3 Hits to destroy stationary machinegun. That was too much.
Now we have good countering balance between competent sniper and competent MG operator.

All right, now I see that this would be more reverse than forward in the game developement.

Mounted MGs overheat way too fast and go all over the place wich should not happen on mounted guns!

Guess it’s the “balance”

MG’s even in real life where not durable stop watching too much cinema.

As soon as the MG fire, all soldiers (specialy snipers) focus him until he is down.

And I say this as an axe player who love the MG.

Unlock MG for your infantry and play with it as a mobile infantry, it works good

The idea was not based on a stereotype, but these MG-s could take up a few hits, they were made of stamped steel even fitted with a cooling coat so they could really take more hits from greater distances. BUT in the name of balance even I dropped the idea.
