Alright this might sound weird but it would be really nice to have more options for dismemberment of dead soldiers.
This would give the player more of a feeling that they are in a brutal war and not in an arcady game.
This is one example of what would be nice to be added (screenshot is from the game Tannenberg):
Or in general just more deformation and dismemberment of the dead body.
for example when tanks drive over them they get crushed and leave a huge stain of blood or smth.
also bodies would be nice if they would pile and can also give some cover (this could be very useful in many situations).
Here i have some examples of what it should be like:
This would already be a huge step in the right direction to make the game more immersive.
I agree, also they should make explosion have ragdoll effect on the body. Currently when soldiers die to explosion they just drop to the ground. Make it so that the explosions swing their bodies across the room or into the sky.
Although df have solved having permanent and interactive vehicle wrecks, I can’t imagine what the workaround for the performance load of tracking at worst hundreds if not thousands of bodies for any reasonable amount of time and synchronising their position between each player.
But still, I agree wholeheartedly with the idea, adding some more viscerality in the mix; and a morbid meta of bodies filling an objective and having push them aside for lines of fire and so on.
well they could make it a setting so for the ppl with performance issues or potato pc’s can turn body despawn on.
tho the ppl that want could keep it on.
so it will be rendered on their pc’s and not on the servers
