The new assault engineer event squad for the soviets lacks a lot of customization, its the same for every campaign, including mittens and overcoats for Berlin? Really?
This bothered me so much that I havent even played a single match with them and it also made me realize that the soviets are lacking a lot of camo options for even regular squads so I did some digging and found a few options.
Amoeba patterns
Introduced in 1938, it was the first mass produced soviet camouflage uniform. Most color variants of the amoeba are in the game but they are locked to certain event / premium squads (Fedorov paras, PPK and PPD DSZ squads) they are also missing helmet covers for each one excluding the light green one.
The blue camo was quite rare and would fit nicely as a customization for event and premium squads.
Leaf patterns
Introduced in 1941, produced in two color variations for summer, one of which is already used on the discontinued SKS-31 premium squad.

TTsMKK patterns
Introduced in 1944, the pattern was developed by the soviets to reduce the effectiveness of german night vision devices. It came in a few different colors, one for each season, the summer and autumn ones later came with brown amoeba overprints very similar to the original 1938 pattern. These patterns also included a helmet cover.

The USSR isnt the only nation with such problems, the UK, Italy and Japan are also missing a lot of their camos, as well as Germany missing setpieces to their camos.

The only detail I like to add that USSR doesn’t have many pouch options which I really dislike.
I would like soldiers to have pouches realistic to their weapons equipped.
SMG guy shouldn’t be running around with rifleman pouches ect.
The ammo pouches should be generic in the selection just based off small and large type.
Then when you equip the gun to the soldier it changes to match with the firearm.
Thanks for making this post. As a person who deeply cares about customization in this game this is quite sad to say the least. The Soviets are lacking the vest to go alongiside the green amoeba camo in the Battle of Berlin. I understand that giving that entire set for free might upset some people who have the PPK-42 event squad. But then what is the point of giving us the helmet and torso while we can’t even equip the matching vest? They should really come up with some new customization options for Berlin by taking inspiration from some of the camos mentioned in this post.
