More Assaulters

During WW2 the Soviets were the first to use submachine guns on a massive scale making entire squads armed with SMGs. After encountering the deadly Soviet SMG squads Germany began to make similar adhoc units for the brutal combat on the Eastern Front. Late in the war Germany created Volksgrenadier units that would be fully equipped with the latest Stg assault rifles to maximize their firepower

Assaulter Squads can have a maximum of 4 Assaulters. I don’t know but 4 doesn’t sit right with me. It’s not bad, but it just feels like an odd number to stop at. I don’t expect that we’d have full 9 or so Assaulters. 5 to 7 seems better. I feel Assaulter squads should have more Assaulters.

Premium and event Assaulter squads would have to be updated to the new standard amount of Assaulters, this shouldn’t be too hard to just add a few more soldiers to these squads

To put it simply I believe that the amount of Assaulters in Assaulter squads should be increased
4, ok not bad
5, reasonable
6, ideal in my opinion
7, great

Your lucky day premium assaulter squads have 5 assaulters.
You can put 4 assaulters and 1 medic in assaulter squad and if you play Germany you can put a sniper too armed with StG44.

well at BR 5 everyone is basically an assaulter anyway haha. thanks to Select fire

Personally I prefer Medics not be treated as discount Assaulters. I know they’re a niche class but when I play Medics I fulfill my role healing the team, no matter how pointless some would argue

I played a game against Japan last night and every single Japanese soldier had an SMG. There was not a single one with a bolt action rifle (this was BR II).

We got smashed, it was not fun at all.

The less assaulters the better. Indeed as has been suggested before it would be good if Enlisted changed to allow for different classes to be used more effectively. Snipers at the moment are completely useless while engineers are almost pointless as well given how fast paced the game is.

Its just spam assaulters, rush the point and stuff everyone else.

sure but like valkay said then drop the squad to five soldiers
all squad types need to be in balance
7 assaulters would be a major buff
you would then need to buff every other squad type

Yeah this would be too much, although as people have mentioned germany can get away will almost a full team of smgs as it is. Also assaulter squads is one of the few that allows you to completely fill out with specialist.

To the guy who said engineers are almost pointless to use…you must be that guy on the team who doesn’t build rallies. Engineers are literally the most important class in the game. You will win or loose depending on how many people actually use them. Not to mention all the other stuff they can build and do, such as blocking off main routes with tank traps. Giving the team cover with sandbags, barb wiring for harder access to bombs, AT guns and MG nest for infantry support. Ammo crates seem pretty lackluster in comparison but if you have a good defense with good team mates i promise it will be needed. Engineers are quite possibly the most versital class in game espcially at BR5 with the FG42, and the assault engineers from event just made them ridiculously good. I seriously can’t wrap my head around someone calling them trash. Its this thinking that makes team loose everytime.

You get constantly overrun by an enemy where EVERYONE has SMGs. And thanks to nonsense rules you’re forced to use a bolt action rifle for everyone in your squad unless youre like Tier V or whatever.

I agree 100% with all the suggestions you make for what engineers could do, but they arent allowed to do it.

For starters defenders should be given time to you know, actually defend? Ive had battles where the A point is taken and the complete second after (I really do mean the complete second after), the next objective is already being captured by the enemy.

You have to Usain Bolt back which means everyone gets killed being shot in the back and by the time you get to the new objective its already 80% captured and overrun with surprise surprise an enemy thats entirely automatic weapons!

I still believe there should be more Assaulters, but I agree that battles can be too small and fast. I believe there should be various things implemented that change the culture around gameplay so battles actually feel like battles and not rush fests.

Larger objective sizes so the enemy doesn’t just have to zerg one small building. Greater distance HQ spawns so rallies actually feel important. Some rallies can literally be placed directly near the objective that it does nothing but feed the meat grinder, on some maps the rallies can be 60m away and others less than 40

I’ve been waiting for such a change for a few years now, every time I jump into enlisted I play a few games and then close it with sadness because the gameplay is just one big rush fest.

I wish they just did like invasion/confrontation would have greater objectives, HQ spawns etc. and every other game mode would stay the same as now. Imo perfect solution that would keep the game fresh every time you play different game mode.

yes the popular progression bolt action to full auto select fire
no wait 3 4 are semi auto meaning as fast as you can pull the trigger
just because you want to hold down fire and hose does not make you right

Imagine troopers could use SMGs while what we call Assaulters could use Specialised assault rifles and elite rifles.

Want MP 40 or kar98? No matter every soldier can take both - want a STG? Pick Assaulters.

So to speak the " Assaulters squad" turns into a bad utility, small squad size maximum firepower squad.

People pick SMGs in every BR anyways, unless someone specifically wants to play in a long range support role like arty squads or AT squads.
