I’ve been playing a lot of Sea of Thieves lately, and what struck me as a useful system for Enlisted to adopt is their ledger system
The way it works is that every faction has a leaderboard that lasts a month. At the end of the month, you’re giving rewards based on what percentage of the leaderboard you sit in, calculated by overall activity. The percentages are very attainable, with the top tier being the top 25% of players on that faction.
Overall what it does is keep active players putting hours into every faction
How this could translate into enlisted would be by logging overall points gained in each faction.
Rewards should be faction-specific, ie being in the top 25% of Moscow Soviet players will get you a Moscow Soviet gold gun, gold soldier, camo pattern, and profile icon.
Page I attached gives a bit better idea of how the rewards look in SoT.
i love Sot, but as a different game, i don’t think enlisted would really benefict from a similar system.
i think the rank one already does it’s best. you get rewards per rank.
and a suggestion that i have been seen, the more points you earn after the rank marshal, could be spend in a separate shop with different rewards for each season. so people can get unique items/squads/cosmetics depending on how much they progress.
In current situation, it will create even bigger unbalances. Germany suffers in every campaign except normandy. So all germany enjoyers will rally to normandy. Westetn allies enjoyers will rally to tunisia. Japan enjoyers rally to eu and e servers meanwhile us enjoyers fill the na server. Soon, everybody realizes that playing some spesific faction in some spesific campaign/server is obsolete , then totally abdondon those. At the end, everybody would be farming bots in %90 of matches.
Its funny you say this because when I play as US in the Pacific on NA servers it’s nothing but high level players on the Japanese side steamrolling us, but if I set my settings to All Servers it immediately becomes full high rank US teams steamrolling the Japs.
Logging points over the course of a month makes scummy tactics overkill just for landing in the top 25%
It’s more about putting hours into a faction than it is performing with them. You wouldn’t even need to be good to get top tier, just dedicated.
Maybe I misunderstand what you are saying but I don’t see how it would encourage anyone to play more campaings or more factions. Seems like it could encourage some people to main certain factions/campaigns even harder so they can try to get to the top of one of the leaderboards.
And when the guys who wants to earn tunisia but sees all trammates are bots, no real players besides him he and allies are steamrolling with fully unlocked players they will just quit after few hours then return to normandy. Since nobody is responsible to pick up the slack in a dead campaign.
Top 25% isn’t hard to achieve, and once an active player gets it they start building other factions up.
If they drop out of the top 25% in the process they just play a couple more battles then go back to the rest.
My SoT group sometimes picks what we’ll do by seeing what faction we’re ranked the lowest in, then putting a couple hours into that one.
Really what it does is better distribute active players.
