Its a new thing. 2000/2500 GE to enter, but parts of it are free.
I bought it.

I bought it.
Ah and would you say that it’s worth it?
Red Dead Online has the same thing.
Crazy, a single purchase game has to find otherways to monetize to keep servers running, pay for anticheat, patch etc.
Entire forum has turned into people realizing production costs money, games cost money, life costs money and the shocked outcry at that realization.
Idk it doesn’t really seem like it’s an outcry at the fact that the devs need to find a way to monetize. Rather it’s more about the monetization method that’s being used and how it affects the game. For instance, with these other games like Fortnite, Apex, or even RDO as you pointed out here. These games have a monetization method that ADDS content into the game and give you something to grind for.
But here with Enlisted it seems much more tied to the actual in-game progression and takes advantage of how slow it is rather than trying to add anything onto it you know? It just doesn’t add anything of substance rather than just some mobile monetization type stuff so I think that’s what people have more of a problem with than anything.
I think gambling of any kind with regard to premium currency ( real world cash) needs to be removed.
So far as unlocking progression that’s been a trend with F2P games both on PC/mobile and I don’t see it going away anytime soon.
If they gate limited time event with $$ or release special campaigns for cash I can honestly see the same out cry. “oh you’re neglecting the base game to cater to whales” which is why I believe most gaming companies who engage in F2P games go for premium content that integrates seamlessly with the free content (premium squads/tanks/weapons)
I have played for awhile and unlocked enough squads without having premium time to find it enjoyable although I come from both WOT and WT where the grinds are incredibly arduously long so I might just be used to the arbitrary time sinks.
I definitely think there’s reworking that can be done on a variety of levels but disagree with a lot of points being made as well.
I appreciate the points you’re trying to make and thank you for voicing your opinion. I think as a collective we all want this project to succeed without feeling taking advantage of nor putting the devs in the bread line.
The first one yes, I don’t enjoy the second one. Feels like a chore I paid for.
The way I see it, if the dev is making game P2W, they don’t belive the game is good enough to bring messes of players and profit on popularity, that is first red flag.
If game becomes P2W after years, its probably because is at the end of its lifespan. The devs are squeezing the remaining player base before moving on- red flag.
IMHO the P2W games are less likely to have massive player base and are dying faster… the most popular games e.g. PUBG, Apex, Fortnite are keeping P2W content in check and monetising on popularity.
Anyway for me Gaijin don’t count on massive success of its game, therfore setting themselves for mediocre reception by going P2W from the beginning end ensuring the game will not be a huge success. Red flag?
so paying to skip a grind is pay to win?
Depends from scale and what progress means to the gameplay balance.
Which brings up the point I keep trying to stress.
If pay-to-progress is pay-to-win, the core problem is progression which will emerge when the game matures p2w or not.
which we could address coherently instead of just calling everything you don’t have or don’t like as P2W.
nah, spam more and then wonder why the devs don’t respond.
Seasonal content like battle passes are awful and you shouldn’t be shilling it here.
Yeah bro you didn’t get that in (random season)? Guess you’ll never be able to again, too bad((
So no events in enlisted too?
What about twitch drops? Can’t have them, they are on the same level…
Neither of those are paid
Gotcha
You’re right though, but neither of those have the good shit locked behind mtx
Paid events, such as battlepasses, should not and should never exist. Drop based events are fine since every player has the chance to earn something from the event. You might not realise this but most of Enlisted’s playerbase comes from impoverished countries, and having a battlepass with exclusive items would bar the majority of the playerbase from participating.
One day my premium pistol will be OP and you’ll regret saying this
You can just do it like XO/WTs battle pass, with the majority of content being free, but some content being paid. In that regard XO’s BP is actually better, as you get blueprints to craft the guns, while the premium part gives you the actual guns, which could be applied to this game as well: Unlock weapons to get from the lootbox (lootbox ) but get fully upgraded guns (
) for paid.
It disgusts me personally but it would work.
You know I agree with most of what you’re saying here. I too agree that any sort of gambling with this bs “premium” currency just needs to go. There’s no place for it in a game like this. And if this game intends on being F2P, then sure I’m fine with premium units, vehicles, or weapons. So as long as they’re not super OP and are mainly just cosmetic in nature. But idk it just doesn’t seem necessary for the mtx to be tied to progression in any way.
There are different things such as cosmetics that could be monetized instead. Which aren’t a core thing that’s necessary in order to enjoy the game. As you can play just fine without these cosmetics. But slowing down the core experience just to make the MTX tempting just doesn’t sit well with me. So yeah I too think a reworking is definitely needed on a variety of levels. Especially with progression and monetization. But I do understand how embedded this type of monetization is in gaming right now so I’m not expecting this kind of stuff to go away anytime soon either. It just sucks that it has it’s dirty, wretched, sticky hands on a great game like this. I suppose all we can do tho is hope for the best and that the devs and gaijin do what’s best for the game. Oh man I really hope they do…
Thanks tho for being so nice and understanding in regards to sharing opinions. We all just want this game to be the best it can be while also making the devs the money they deserve. Bc tbh they do deserve to be paid for this game. Which is why I bought so early into it in the first place. Bc it really is an amazing WW2 game with a TON of potential. I just hope that it doesn’t get too in bed with the greedy side of the industry is all and that it turns out to be the best it can be.
