So proposals for new and realistic options?
I say
- F2P MTX
- Subscription model
- Single purchase with private servers and major paid DLC like new campaigns
- A mix
To try keeping it realistic because you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

To make Enlisted a better game we need to have fantasy and not look at facts
The main reason why I think pay-to-play Enlisted will bring up NOTHING BUT A SMALLER, EVEN MORE TOXIC COMMUNITY
Battlefront vibes intensify.
We are missing MTX without P2W, e.g. cosmetics + subscription (as it is without extra slots).
Premium squads as cosmetics and XP bonus.
That would be optimal solution IMHO.
Also why I cant vote? CBT should have no voice?
You can’t vote because the poll was made wrong because the poll making tool is misleading to use.
I didn’t include an optional subscription plus cosmetics in my list because I don’t think that alone is sufficient to fund the game.
Same reason I added “private servers” as a cost-cutting measure to make one-time-purchase plus DLC a viable model.
Of course cosmetics can supplement every payment model.
Guys or Devs can create Enlisted like War Thunder with Tech. Trees for Soldiers and also for Vehicles with some Premium stuff like Captured Vehicles, Cosmetic stuff like some Historical Camouflages etc… I created topic about that:
By my opinion that would be also good idea for F2P Enlisted without P2W stuff…
Why do you think that would not be enough? There are successful F2P games without P2W
Can you name a few?
It would pay to look at their payment model, how they handle servers, development cycle, etc.
It depends how you describe p2w and how “anal” one decide to be about it.
I’m not big on F2P games but off the top of my head:
War Thunder was OK for many years, now less so (I play it since 2011), Apex Legends apparently is good example, and Fortnight, Path of Exile (I played it couple years ago) - I haven’t noticed issues.
Warframe is manageable (or was when I played it). Team Fortress 2?
I mean PUBG is not F2P but costs around 15$? and is thriving without p2w for years.
Can’t remember much about old war thunder other than that I don’t think you could buy RP, the rest I would need to look into.
Well from what I know, Fortnite and Apex fund themselves mainly off of “Battle Passes” and cosmetic items. And Fortnite also has a separate co-op/single player mode called “Save the World” which you have to buy separately. So that’s how those fund themselves to my knowledge but the others I’m not too sure.
In the past, the premium planes (I’m dedicated pilot) would normally be not better then regular machines, you would buy them for RP bonuses or like me for collection…
actually you could find best performing planes (for its BR) in regular tree.
There is pay 2 progress but since matchmaker combines players from +/- 1 BR that wouldn’t be a problem. If you progress slowly you still play with players from your BR.
I don’t mind, actually, I like pay 4 content. E.g. core game is free but extensions aren’t. (if the content is adequate to the price).
Yep same here actually. As long as the content is enough to justify the price point, then I’m more than happy to pay for additional content and whatnot. Heck, I’d even be okay with paying for the base game, as well as any content additions that are released later down the line.
So as long as the content of the base game, as well as the content from the extensions is worth the money of course.
What’s a battle pass?
It’s basically a tiered content pass which you pay for, and can progress thru in order to unlock various types of unique cosmetic items. You can progress thru these passes by completeing various tasks or even with just XP from in-game I believe. So yeah it’s just a content pass which you gotta pay for and progress thru in order to unlock the unique items in it. Fortnite has been doing this for a while and they’ve released quite a few passes in the game’s lifetime.
And believe me, these passes and even the skins alone are EXTREMELY profitable. I know first hand just based on how many people I know personally, friends and my younger family, who have bought these passes and the skins as well for Fortnite. But as for Apex, I’m not too sure about their battle pass or cosmetics as I haven’t played it in a long while.
That’s… Odd.
I’ve seen games where people won’t do that shit for free much less pay for it.
Its basically pay to participate, long term event with in game rewards. In Apex apparently if you finish it, you can fund the next one from the income.
The first BP in WT was pretty good, 2nd is too grindy.
Oh yeah, it’s extremely odd man. Believe me, I find it hard to believe as well that people would actually do this. But you’d be surprised how driven people can be by these unique items and how much they can want to obtain them.
Yeah it’s basically just pay to participate for some unique items. Which is surprisingly successful and profitable. But I suppose it’s mainly from the fact that the game is free, so people are willing to shell out some cash for these passes.
But really WT had a pass too? Shit I forgot about that lol
