Given that molotov cocktails were actually made for use against vehicles in real life, not just throwing into a room to toast everyone, can anyone confirm or deny that they actually damage tanks or kill crew when thrown onto tanks?
I’ve thrown a lot of Molotov cocktails onto tanks in this game. To date I have no proof that it actually did anything. That’s because usually when I throw a molotov cocktail onto a tank I don’t have either a Panzerbuechse or a satchel charge, and I throw it and then get out of there and don’t watch to see what happens.
They really should do some damage. Especially when throw onto an engine deck, burning gasoline dripping down into the engine compartment would burn wiring, rubber hoses, etc. A tank could easily be at least disabled this way. If burning gas were able to get inside these very small light tanks they could injure or kill crew, ignite ammunition, etc.
Anyhow, I just want to know: is it a known fact, confirmed somehow by players or by the devs, that molotov cocktails in fact do damage to tanks or their crew?
Hmm. Too bad there’s no upgrade path for molotov cocktails like there is for other weapons.
Well, I’ll keep throwing them on vehicles when I get a chance, if I don’t have an explosion pack, in hopes that it does actually help.
I don’t have the Flammenwerfer yet, but I’ll have to try what Mooelu showed once I finally get there. I’m still I think three levels out (currently working on the level where one gets the pre-war K98k with scope on it).
