I threw a Molotov cocktail on to the engine deck of a Pz.III expecting the Tank to burn or atleast knock his engin out and well nothing happened. As most of us know Molotov cocktails were used as AT-Weapons in the Winter War and WW2 so it would be nice to see that we could damage/knockout Tanks with Molotov cocktails
Molotovs damage the sights of tanks. You already have the explosive pack which can kill tanks 100% of the time on a good throw, the grenade can also damage tanks (mostly tracks, enabling an easy explosive pack kill) on good throws. Each explosive has its own use against tanks. The molotov and grenade are much better against infantry so it’s fair that they are less good against tanks
Well you are not wrong and I get your point, but I still think a Molotov cocktail should be able to damage Tanks quite badly. In the end, the developers have to make a decision its just a suggestion.
but molotovs would only be efficient where are holes in the tank (engine radiator is good example, but with a measure of luck it could deliver some harm to turrets horizontal drive)
I agree. When I first started playing as the tankers and got molotoved, it looked like the inside was burning and I panicked every time it happened, which is more than one would expect if it doesn’t do much real damage to a tank. Very underwhelming the first two or three times I molotoved a tank myself and nothing happened from my perspective.
The molotov cocktail should be able to destroy a unprotected (i.e T-26, BT-XX, etc.) engine, its main purpose was to destroy a tanks engine and thus burn the tank.
They should allow molotovs to destroy or at least cripple(reduce speed of the tank, the engine runs weaker and occasionally cuts out perhaps requiring a restart) engines
Perhaps have molotovs damage engines to yellow or read, resulting in reduced tank speed/mobility
I really don’t think it should destroy a tank as a whole
Molotov cocktails were pretty much useless against tanks by 1941 - they were pretty easy to defeat - just design engine decks with no holes in them! (and also ventilation and vision that does not have a simple and direct route into the tank, etc)
Used en masse they might blind a crew while burning - as they do in Enlisted - and even asphyxiate them if you completely covered the tank in flames - but that’s goign to take an awful lot of them.
Mostly however they were only useful vs careless of poorly trained crews and in defensive situations, and they provided a morale boost to infantry who would otherwise wonder what htey were supposed to do against tanks.
The idea that they should be able to KO tanks with 1 MC is pretty unrealistic… so maybe it fits in Enmlisted after alll…
Killing tanks is easy enough, no matter the real life aplication, if you buff molotovs you will remove the balance we have currently between AT and tanks.
The molotov explodes on impact so would be a way way to easy kill if pick the increase the grenade throw range perk and make it instantly kill a tank.
Currently it does dmg and obscures vision, not a lot but enough. Seems fine with me.
