I must be missing something. It’s so hard to get a submachine gun to modify that I gave up. My assault squad is limiting out on all it’s modifications to squad, personnel and weapons. Weapons mean nothing because I rarely am able to buy a submachine gun. It requires a silver medallion which are as scarce as hens teeth.
What am I missing when it comes to getting silver orders of weaponry? For that matter gold. Don’t think I ever got one of those.
You can get silver orders from BP or by completing challenges.
You can also of course get SMGs form the random, bronze orders - but as the name says, they are totally random, so you have to be lucky.
Just seems that getting a silver is too difficult. I save up my bronze to buy explosives. Why not make the submachine a 1 silver or ten bronze to buy? At least you would have better chance of using the modifications tier. Right now it’s useless to me.
It isn’t that hard. Those challenges are mostly rather easy to complete and so are BP tasks. But it is better to save those silver orders for things that you will 100% want to get, so wasting them for example for 1st SMG is not a good move imo.
Thats the whole idea - you can either get exactly what you want from silver orders or try your luck by using bronze ones.
Sadly that’s not what they want. And trust me, some things are even worse than upgrading SMGs. When you will get to the late campaign tanks you will see what the costs of upgrades mean. At least now there is no “failure chance” like it was in CBT - you could spend over 96 weapon parts and randomly loose them all. There was no silver orders too, so all those guns had to be won in a bronze order lottery.
That’s the dumb system they’ve decided upon. Either gamble or pay up. There were a lot of suggestions on how to improve it before launch, but developers were hellbent on implementing their casino project.
I guess at least you have the assaulters to fill the ranks, even if you don’t have enough resources to fully upgrade their weapons. You could have been getting pilots all the time instead, like some other players.
P.S. It’s not a good idea to waste silver on anything other than vehicles anyway. Because vehicles can only be upgraded with silver. Well, unless you absolutely know that you’re never going to touch them.
I’ve been able to modify one tank, one time so far. Seems the first mod doesn’t do squat. Can only imagine what the 4 star mod is going to cost. Is it worth it to mod the tanks?
Actually I don’t know if it’s “worth it”, strictly speaking. Not from experience at least. I’m currently hogging all the silver tickets because progression seems too atrocious to waste resource now. All I know for sure is that 1) you can only upgrade them with silver, 2) there isn’t enough silver tickets in 75 levels of the battle pass to fully upgrade all vehicles for one faction in one campaign.
On paper tank upgrades don’t look all that attractive. The maps are small enough for them to not matter all that much, although they probably do give you a small edge. For airplanes upgrades should be somewhat more relevant because you often need every advantage possible in a dogfight. Too bad airplanes are a terrible mess now and aren’t particularly enjoyable.
The BP is defacto infinite. After max level four additional levels are added:
1x silver soldier | 2x liver weapon 2x silver weapon | 1x Silver soldier token. After the fourth you start with the first again. For non premium BP users this means 8 silver tokens for weapons per week.
Yet I’m not convinced that it’s woth upgrading vehicles untill you upgraded all your relevant weapons to 5 stars, the damage bonus on semi autos is a bigger advantage in comparission.
@Cheboom:
Compared to othr stuff SMGs are easy. It is also a bit depending on the faction you play. In the US normandy campaign all my soldiers are already equipped with at least 3* M(A1)s. Ther german campaign has a greater variety of SMGs and I don’t like half of them so it’s a bigger project to get enough 3 star weapons of exactly the weapons you want.
Additionally it is a question in which phase of equipping your soldiers you are. If you still need a lot of det packsit takes longer but you msut realize that you areonly at the start of your journey and as a f2p title it is not designed in a way that you are rquipped and done after 4 weeks.
I am done with equipping my soldiers and only upgrading remains on the to do list…but since I am a bit lazy right now and hesitant on the question in which campaign I want to invest the orders, I’ve piled up ~120 bronze orders right now.
I upgraded the Jumbo because its a great tank and it feels better in all round driving. More fun that way, easier to go trough trees on lower speeds, can move up hills you normally can not to get some cheeky non standard flanks and you get a faster turret which is great to keep ahead the sidelong running infantry. Made me play the tank more and would say that is worth.
Other than that I used the silver to upgrade the semi auto rifles.
Have not noticed any need to spend silver on smgs, for one I got enough from the bronze orders since you only need a few compared to the rifles. So on average that should pan out in your favor if you are looking for weapons. Smgs have been the gun I have the most of laying around during progression.
This is exactly what I came up with my thinking is one does a lot of work getting even the bronze so they should have the option of buying exactly what they want with them even if it costs 10 bronze. When you first start playing you can easily get some silver stuff the main thing to do once you acquire these is to do NOTHING figure the game out before you spend any of them - I’m referring to getting them via the Achievements many of those are simple but save the silver you get rather use the silver you get with battlepass Maybe spend a silver every once in a while but save them because once they are gone they are gone meaning the easy to get ones. When you get a new squad it will usually come with one guy with a special weapon as you get more squads you can move this guy around for example I obtained a bazooka squad so I took the bazooka guy and put him with one of my other squads that has a sniper slot and a bazooka slot. The random gun thing sort of works but for example I have gotten about 2 or 3 bazookas out of it and spend about 40 or 50 bronzes or more and I rarely get pistols.
