I think it’s exciting! I am hopeful they’ll add some better squad commands and then with a small amount of Full Spectrum Warrior type gameplay, it’ll keep a similar strategy based core player group while enticing more users.

It’s most likely an event, some players have already leaked an event banner image and found other modern equipment in the files (such as the T-80U).

Usually War Thunder will do this. I believe they have advanced teams programming future work while other teams work on expansion of core gameplay and improvements. This may be the future teams latest project. Frankly, since Enlisted is versatile with each campaign being essential it’s own game, I’d rather see modern war than pacific first on the docket as both likely require similar resources to produce. Actually, the Middle East with Tunisia already is set so it’s probably easier to add a few guns and use the map already built than to build a new map and guns.
They need to make it a separate game. If anything it will draw resources from the current game making it worse

just like they did with war thunder, it’ll be an event that they use to weasel modern trash into the game.
It’ll cause conflicting game genres and a conflict of interests between these genres in game development, just like it did with war thunder.
Can’t turn out well.

its must promo to other game and everyone thinks its happening to enlisted is confusing to my brain.
Yeah we are still on beta ffs. We cant even get to level 40 in any campaign let alone get 80 years in the future

I disagree, Enlisted never stated it was only WW2 and unlike War Thunder the individual campaigns are essentially separate games. I think it could integrate nicely.
What’s the highest level you are in?
More player base split, more balance issues, more bugs going unresolved. Wont help anyone

It won’t, it’ll dramatically split the player base and what these players want from the game.
The devs won’t be able to please both at the same time.
Better off being a separate game.

I understand this point, but I think the devs are smart enough to realize that adding a modern campaign will ruin the game. In War Thunder it makes more sense to have modern equipment since the game partially thrives on new vehicles and can only really expand in one direction. Enlisted cannot expand in the same way because we are limited by the campaigns, and adding a new modern campaign would be an obvious mistake. If anything they would probably make it into a separate game, though I’m thinking this event will be just for fun.

I’m getting mixed feeling about whether or not this integration or separation of WW2 and modern conflict in Enlisted.
I want it too become integrated because it’s easier in the economic part (don’t need to grind the orders again in the separate game).
But, really at this point we don’t really need more campaign because i’ll be more spread out.
Although about the spread of the player, it will happen in the future anyway because there will be other WW2 campaign like pacific etc, so 1 new modern campaign wouldn’t hurt much.
all in all, be it separate game or not, it’ll reduce the number of player…
If it separate game, people who have interest would just abandon Enlisted
If it the same, people who have interest would just abandon the WW2 part
