Nuketown New Era

As you wake up in the middle of the night in your apartment, you hear growling and screaming outside. Blood stained undead, and hellspawn are coming from the nearby towns. There is only one choice here: Survive!

In the past months or years even, Nuketown was one of the most played custom zombies map. Recently reaching 10000 launches, Nuketown now has received a full remake. A completely new, superior map design, new and familiar locations across the map, new weapons and more to be coming soon.

New Era? Yes. This mod marks a new era for modding; Custom levels are now possible to be played online, allowing new maps to be created from scratch*. Expect custom levels with radically new level design and even gameplay soonᵀᴹ. We are no longer bound to the game’s base maps anymore.

*(Only using assets and textures from Enlisted with great limitation in filesize)
Old “Nuketown Zombies” is now legacy, it will not receive new updates.

Changelog to Nuketown 2.1.1:

  • Completely new map made using Dagor Editor. New map layout, including new road layouts, have been made. This also allows to optimize the map further performance wise.
    Special thanks to NicSavichev on the github page for wasting time to help with my issues.

  • Added Train Station location

  • Rationalized Missile Silo: Now only the first two floors of the Silo is accessible. This will increase server performance considerably. The silo was too large to be populated with content, and most players never went down to explore the whole complex anyway. It was also a problem for navigation mesh.

  • Rationalized Lava Cave and Outpost: A segment that was going to be added for legacy Nuketown Zombies has been integrated into Lava Outpost, creating a much larger room. Caves are much shorter to decrease traversal time for players and zombies.

  • Added shortcuts to decrease travel time between POIs. Goal here was to make the map feel smaller less time consuming to reach POIs, as well as reducing time, zombies need to reach the furthest points of the map

  • Added new character, “Darly Dixon” made by @ErikaKalkbrenner

  • Added weapons from “Leadstorm” patch - Both as wallbuys and in boxes

  • Added Hunting Crossbow restored by us

  • Significantly decreased loading times

  • Improved server performance

  • Slightly improved performance on low end hardware and PS4/XBOX ONE. Mod still has higher system requirement than base game, due to night setting and lot of light sources.
