My bad got distracted watching Lego masters, could work what matters is balance more than historical accuracy so long as unlike the ho-ri it existed before japans surender
Comparing a short range SMG to a versatile assault rifle which is good at almost any range is not really sensible.
I generally agree but not when that velocity is so abysmal that you lose the majority of the hitpower in the first 100 meters and that you have to lead it like an AA gun, as for this the best thompson is the 30. cal one because it retains damage over distance and doesnt turn into a hitmarker machine.
Another weapon that is terrible only due to its velocity is the supressed mosin sniper.
For me this is all that is needed for the weapon to become fully worthy of BR 5, it would also give it a slight recoil buff.
The weapon that actually should be reduced in BR is the StG-45.
People for some reason think that the mkb42(H) is an StG44 with slightly nerfed rate of fire, but it isnt.
mkb42(H) is really not a versatile weapon, its dispersion was nerfed so many times now its about as accurate a SMG.
both the M21/28 Thompson and Tokyo Arsenal have faster TTK (time to kill) up until 120m, past that range even the mkb42(H) struggles because of its terrible dispersion so that high damage is actually useless as both Tommy and mkb42 are 2 hit kill up to 120m (Tokyo “only” up to 55m), only the ppd34/38 is actually worse than the mkb42(H) but it will still dominate in close ranges, just look at each weapons squad wipe potential:
mkb42(H) has 80 DPS, M21/28 Thompson has 111 DPS and 1.5 sec reload, if not for its suboptimal velocity this gun would be better than Hyde1944.
Nonsense. Just learn how a weapon have to be used and learn how to aim. You also learn how a sniper works and how different other weapons work (and work in distance).
Important factors are - as mentioned VERY clearly and good: damage per second, accuracy and rof.
The TT MKb42(H) and (W) should be BR4. “Only AR on BR5” is also nonsense. There already is the Mkb35 on BR2 and the MKb.42(M) on BR4 - and no one compained about that.
I agree, but until DF does the right thing and makes BR 5 a stand alone level, BR4 weapons are still most likely going to be playing level five matches. Level 3 and 4 are fairly close, but neither is close to level 5, unless DF makes everything fully auto in level 3/4.
I don’t know how many BR5 weapons should be dropped, but the mkb42 is one of them. Currently, the way DF sets the system up, level 4 is meaningless IMOP.
Sure the 20 round mag sucks, but its high rate of fire and high 11.5 damage easily make up for that magazine especially if you take the quick reload perk.
