Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
The mkb42(H) is not for BR5, though it might theoretically seem that as an assault rifle it should belong in BR5, but the mkb42(H) is severely underpowered compared to other assault rifles.
In fact it is most comparable to the BR4 M21/28 Thompson

Both weapons are two hit kill up to 100-120m, not that it matters much as their effective range is limited by dispersion rather than damage.
mkb42(H) has the worst dispersion out of all assault rifles, in fact there are SMGs more accurate than the mkb42(H) such as the M3A1 grease gun.
The 9.6 damage might seem good for BR4, as SMGs do between 6.4-8.2 damage, however mkb42(H) has fire rate of only 500 rpm while these BR4 smgs have 800+ rof so they actually enjoy more DPS than the mkb42(H).
A little comparison with BR4 SMGs:
MkB 35 at BR2? And besides, the intermediate caliber should not dictate the BR,it is way too slow for BR5,and SMGs at BR4 can keep up because they have good fire rates to match the damage.
muzzle velocity is literally the only hard fixed value that is 100% based on reality and have nothing to do with balance. BR1 guns such as ppd34 can have more muzzle velocity than a BR5 gun like Thompson M1928A1 50.
Obviously it’s about balance.
High muzzle velocity = No need to calculate lead time = Faster aiming
The Thompson M1928A1 50 is in BR5 because it is better than the Thompson M21/28, not any Soviet submachine gun.
than why could BR1 guns have higher muzzle velocity than BR5 guns?
Im not saying that it doesnt effect the gun play, but out of all of the stats a weapon can have, muzzle velocity is the last the factor that matters and the fact that we are arguing about mkb42(H) being better because its bullets fly faster really shows how equal it is to M21/28 Thompson.
If you don’t consider the Beretta M38 40 is terrible at BR4.
Yeh, MKB42(H) is better, compared to Beretta M38 40. This gives MKB basis for being in BR5.
mkb42(W) at least has decent AR dispersion and according to wikipedia had 600 rpm instead of 500 rpm we have in game, plus bayonet could be added so in theory it could be buffed up for BR5 a little…
I still doubt it would be used on BR5 but neither would be fair on BR4 with bayonet and 600 rpm.
