Instead of having italian weapons and tanks smeared into the axis tree, it could have its own part, and france could also be added to the american tech tree, but that its army is limited to rank I and II and the following could be free france squads.

Segmenting off the subtrees would make sense, but yeah there should not be a split between UK/US and Italy/Germany. Also, France should absolutely be in the Allied tree, and then they could provide a few bonus semi-autos at different tiers and provide some variety in that department. It also makes no sense for the Axis to use French stuff since we already have the Moroccans for the Allies.
The idea it self is good, but might need some more work and other improvements to Italy and Britain.
