Military surplus: newcomers help

I’ve recently brought over a friend, made him try Enlisted. So far so good, likes it enough to keep playing, albeit in a very casual manner.

His only gripe is how long it takes to unlock stuff.

I can’t really blame him. When I first started it was quite easy, there was 2 campaigns with about 20 lvls each per side.

Meanwhile, I looked at my surplus and thought:
“My, how great would it be to manipulate… err… help him out by giving him some stuff from my own arsenal”.

I’ve got so many perfectly good firearms taking dust, some maxed out.

My suggestion would be to:

  • Create a “Godfather” program. With this you could choose a newcomer to sponsor, helping him as you see fit by giving him stuff, such as weapons… soldiers…
To avoid a player made economy (which would be amazing but make the Snail puke), it would only be one way transactions, only the “Godfather” could give.

Before the holy snail brands me a heretic and accuse me of undermining it’s profit… It’s important to explain that it’s MUCH easier to hook a player to the game with some freebies and help from his friends, than him doing everything alone, trying to crawl his way up to his Marshalls thatunlockedeverythingeverywhere friends.

Thus gaining a more permanent player… That in turn might turn into a CUSTOMER (kaching, snail, kaching) thanks to improved interest and fun.

What are you thinking, all? Would you find nice being able to support friends?

yeah it would be nice, but… it will lower annoyance level. and whole purpose of the game is to annoy you so you open the wallet and jump over the obstacles…

Yes at first, no in the long run:

First: we (the vets) act as “good” friends, give some freebies and hook our own friends to the game. (We’re fu*** bad friends in truth)

Secondly: in the long run, same hooked friend starts to either feel the annoyance and decides to spend as well, feeling a more important degree of investment in the game (since thanks to your help, he plays since a while). He now wants to unlock stuff for himself too, such as some big cat, some HVAR spam machine, or more mannlichers than the many you already gave him maxed to FORCE him to LOVE mannlichers and main them.

well wargaming has good idea on how to hook new players. you get premium days, tanks/ships, gold, boosters etc. and it works. people more often buy premium when they see advantage in grind, or they buy premium tanks/ships to grind xp.

True.

Imagine if we could TRY OUT premium squads just like world of tonks premium tanks, for a trial period.

Sales would go through the roof.

But I dont have enough solts

ATM even if you bought a full stack of premium squads and account, you are still far away from full campaign levels players.
I just give up leveling up Pacific. At lv21, and keep playing it months after its release, still not anywhere close to LV26.
Why not go play other easier campaigns, or actually, other games.
