Hello i have new idea which can be added to some beltfed mgs and others.
In modifications you wouldd be able to change the mg bolt (this will be used for mg42) heavy bolt for 900 RoF and light for realistic 1200 RoF.
Also you could modify the belt size for br2 20-30 rounds and br3
50 and etc.
This would make some premium squads like t24 or mg42 more realistic useable and fun.

Cool idea, going to be difficult (or time consuming) to implement in the current system but it’s really just the natural extension of the squad and soldier outfiting system.
Also, looking forward to the madlads who bring 1200rpm MG with 20 round belts to BR 2, absolute meme weapon.

I don’t think a 20 rounds belt even existed for those.
They came by 50. If they wanted a bigger one they just strapped 2x 50 togheter, etc.

I don’t think it’s possible to do.
But maybe payload/ammo system from planes and tanks can be repurposed? (If it ever comes to enlisted of course.)
Other than that, I’d love to have such system instead of current braindead star system upgrades. Much more interesting and fun. (Basically copy H&G please)

There’s this too for that matter, but the principle is solid.
Oh the principle is fine, it got suggested often and is almost what we have here (mg42 50 is br4, mg42 100 is br5) but mg42 100 got somehow worse stats just because.
Same principle with vehicles loadouts we all want!

The Knorr–Bremse MG-35/36 also has the ability to increase the rate of fire to 1000 rpm, but this is only possible by disassembling the machine gun.

this could be similar for loadouts for certain planes or tanks and other weapons

Big yes with that modularity we could finally have OG-43 and paratrooper Beretta with larger mag sizes at higher BR instead of always spawning with 20 rounds.

adding cod type of customization attchements would be cool
So, am I understanding that your suggesting that people can add a 20 round mag and use the MG42 in BR2? I don’t see that happening, just as I don’t see adding a 20 round mag to a Browning 1919 A6 and making it BR2.
