It would be nice if the stationary MG 42 could be reloaded instead of waiting for it to cool down.
One way to balance the MG42 in general would be that you have to change the Gun barrel when it gets to hot. Also it would be a nice feature

Barrel change was discussed many times. Both for LMGs and MG nests.
Adding reload was also discussed.
We additionally discussed changing model of MG nest from MG42 magically strapped to sandbags, to a machine gun on a tripod.
It’s not magically strapped, it’s balanced perfectly on it, which is why nobody wants to pick it up when it falls over to take the time to rebalance it.
the MG42 as far as I am aware had a very cool tripod setup, you had 100% control over it when it shot out the bullets. That would be something the engineer could set up on the field via construction menu. Or do an upgrade on the sandbags where an existing mg is
