Ok Medics I like and ignore them. I love they have machine guns, and hate that they cant have second weapons because of the medic kits.
I have to admit my lack of usage of the Medic may be because of ignorance of its functions and role in my gameplay style.
I see the game move way fast and dont know if its possible to really be a medic in the current battle state. Usually stopping and not watching for enemies is a death waiting to happen.
I would love to see opinions on their uses for the medic, things I dont understand or how it would help in battle. Now I see it as a machine gunner with limited range.
Now they brought it up I am curious to what I am missing.
So you like assaulters, not medics.
But I agree with the rest of the text that current game is not the best for medics.
Infinite even-more-like-Zerg Rush soldiers don’t need to be saved by medics
Only way i can see medics being useful beyond a combatant is some sort of ticket recovery for the team.
Medics are waste of time. In comparison to assaulters, the squad can hold up to 5 soldiers equipped with automatic weapons (assaulter = only 4), but - no engineer, no radio-operator, no anti-tank. They can drop med bags and heal allies, but - in 90 % of time a player has a full health or is dead, so running and healing others is a waste of time.
And they also have worse stats as assaulters from higher tiers.
yes, assaulters with band aids is what I imagine. Admittedly I don’t understand their in game use.
medics in the current state of battle are more than usable.
especially great to replenish and somewhat make your squad ready for combat after a fight.
or, keep the AI and other players alive with alot of hps.
granted, in heated situations with explosives and what not usually, medics aren’t gonna do much about it.
but personally, i love them.
even more in lone fighters.
where with a buddy you can keep him alive and cover each others.
my only issues, are that they cannot replenish syringes, and even worse, they can’t use semi autos or any other rifles outside default one.
I use Medics to the best of my ability and I’d say I’m effective. Usually I’ll follow groups of infantry and heal whoever I can. Sometimes I’ll stay with particular squads like Snipers or Engineers and keep them alive.
I once had a really intense battle in Stalingrad and I believe part of the reason we ended up winning was because I was hiding in the bathroom with a Soviet Marine reviving and healing him a bunch of times
Although hiding in a bathroom with a soviet marine sounds like a great war story. Kidding aside, it sounds like you understand the duty and abilities of the medic that most of us dont.
when medic is nearby it could reduce camera shakes from explosion to everyone in range. This would work fine, could include suppression if we’re gonna have one someday.
There is a perk that can increases the chances of being downed from a fatal shot rather than dying. It would be interesting if this perk could apply to players within a range of medics who could then try to pick them up. (Sort of like an inspiration that players are given knowing a medic is near to help them so they fight for their life a bit harder).
In regards to not having a second weapon, just drop the med box in a useful place near the objective (it does no good in your inventory and you get a lot of points from its use) then pickup any of the 500 bolt action rifles laying on the ground.
The best way I find to play medics is to embed with other squads. Medics aren’t intended to be a solo squad but as support and should be around the action. I often play the objective with them and just run around healing (which is SUPER fast with medics). If I’m on the offense I like to equip them all with smoke grenades to provide cover for teammates as they advance and keep my allies alive so we can maintain a strong presence on objectives.
the problems for Medics is not that they ain’t unique nor that they aren’t good. It’s the average player is just cannonfodder running straight to cap, shoot wildy die 2 secs later, hits barely nothing and just respawn and do the same.
If players in-game actually used stuff as intended they would feel more useful and game would be more fun.
But most are too dumb sadly to take the time nor want to have to do stuff so it all sucks.
The fast gameplay and unlimited respawn and fast respawn timer is a bane to the game, same as the ability to be ablt to move way too freelt and fast with jumping and shooting. casually hip firing a MG wilst on the move is not a good pace for realism of this kinda game and takes away incentive for more serious investment during match.
Why heal and build and plan and think when can just shoot wildy and doesn’t matter just respawn seconds after, and that people use squads as 1guy and extralives.
Gameplay in terms of pace of mobility of soldiers and then also the simplicity of game mechanics and objectives is hindering any work in the process of having matches that feel genuine and have need for different combat roles and tactics, which is needed for it to feel like a genuine Historical WW2 FPS with Realistic immersive gameplay.
Fast gamepace of mathces means braindead gameplay as in CoD, which is really just for braindead kids who care for nothing, slower and more serious pace with grave consequences leads to more strategic and planned gameplay and creates need for different roles and critical thinking, making the different roles feel alive and useful
They are a medical kit farm. Well played, you can be almost immortal xD
