Medics are underrated (but need upgrades)

Hello comrades!

For the first time, because of the event challenge, i tried playing medics. Its fun and useful. But they need an upgrade.

Possible ideas:

  • add 1 engineer
  • automatically add first aid kits when coming near the dropped med kit box or have passive healing effect
  • med kit first aid kits should heal to 100% when used instead of having to use 2 or 3 of them

for me, as i have been saying by years:

  • get at least additional 1/2 troopers or rework the squad composition entirely


    to make the squad up to 6 or 7 elements.

  • option for engineers & radio operators ( with the ability to use smoke artillery )

  • being able to refill syringes by the medbox at the cost of one medkit from the crate.

  • allow medic to use more variety of rifleman weapons ( such as Kar 98s, Mosins Varients, Svts, Gewehers, Mannlinchers etc )

  • edit older squad of others campaign to accommodate medics

  • ( optional ) add a medic selection specialization to the bikers squad

  • ( optional ) allow players to buy a second medic squad ( for more specialization of those who desire to do so )

  • ( optional ) allow the medic customization in other squads too

Imo give them a revive tool. That’s a very basic utility for a medic in FPS games but we still lack it.
(Also personally I’d remove their access to assaulter weapons but I guess it’s too late for that.)

The medical backpack should double as large backpack, allowing you to bring 4 medikits for the trooper ans/or tools.

Or add a squad of medic 2 with other buff like injection that make you faster or that make you sense when a enemy looking at you

i’m against any " hero type " abilities. ( personally )

you’re a medic, not spiderman :upside_down_face:

( but then again, half of the perks don’t even make sense… so )

There some “medication” that crank up your sense but your vision will be a little blurry like the windows of APC and plane

They do have a revive tool. They can get injured soldiers back on their feet without expending a medkit.

That’s not a revive tool.
They are just healing from the downed state and everybody can do that as long as he has a medkit.

Btw, personally I’d remove the downed state or heavily overhaul it. It doesn’t suit the game theme at all, it’s very heroshooter / battleroyale -esk.

For me the Medic bag should be purchasable by default in the shop, and turn every rifleman into a medic if equipped, and each squad should have by default a slot for the medic already unlocked with the possibility of adding more from the blue perk upgrade

this is what would’ve made medic squad valuable, I laugh when people propose to make them just another assaulters…

make soldiers able to be revived within a minute or whatever unless they’ve been blown into pieces or had squad wipe

Realistically medic squads are just worse assaulter classes as they can’t carry ammo. I personally rarely use medic squads because I am constantly scrambling to carry each team I play (This isn’t stroking my ego its just a fact.) I do not have time to waste nor is the game tactical enough to waste my time healing people. If I am not holding pack the tide of enemies coming in and placing all of the rallies we automatically lose its genuinely tiring.

What do you mean by “revive tool” then? Are you talking about when a player or bot dies completely you should be able to revive them?

If you can revive members of your squad continuously then you would have an invincible squad that could never die, cause you could just keep reviving them the whole match.

I just want them to counter act ticket bleed in some form…

thats the main thing for me. Team mates throwing away lives/tickets, you work your butt off as a medic to compensate (not fully ofcourse)

Overheal? maybe like only overheal the player of a squad one time?

Also notify players that there is a medic that can heal or something by a new icon above player’s heads instead of the normal icon

some other change that wont make them another assaulter squad with only smgs

That sounds more Like buffing (as in increaseing a squads max HP)…That I would associate with an Officer

Im talking about a player squad dies, your team loses 12 tickets, Maybe having a medic squad in the vacinity lowers the loss to 6 tickets (or whatever). Since Reviving might not work well with bots, the effect is tacked onto teams tickets instead

maybe having a medic specialist in your squad, reduces that squads ticket cost when they are lost

Or they can recover tickets by recovering fallen soldiers (like a plane shooting the weather baloons in airfield lol)

well there has to be an incentive for a player to see that they are getting something out of it. So a normal player doesnt see it as “oh this squad isn’t special besides not letting me carry extra ammo or a second primary weapon” because most players are either not aware of their teammates or just don’t care for their teammates

then what if every player uses the medic squad so the match goes until time runs out

i got no problem with AOE heal medic boxs, and score being attached to recovering fallen soldiers.

you can still give them other stuff, I just think a medic “at least” should be about maintaining/recovering team tickets/lives

which can be really important when you having player throwing away up to 20 squads for no real trade
