Medic/assaulter rework and Squad class name fix

This idea is aimed at reworking the medic and Assaulter classes making them easier to understand for newer players and making medics more beneficial. This would also run in parallel with rider class and driver class when it comes to naming.

Idea:

  • Rename assaulter II, III, and IV to Assaulter I, II, and III.
  • Introduce medic II.
  • Rename Driver II, and Rider to motorized division I and II.

Medic overhaul:

  • Overhauling the Medic Squad to include an engineer to make buildables. These would be basic building structures including rally points, sandbags, and barbed wire. Excluding ammo boxes, hedgehogs, and any squad exclusive buildables like AA, AT and MG nests.

This would replace one medic with an engineer so the total squad size would still be 5.

  • Adding medics to more squads, currently there’s only a handful of squads that can have a single medic option available for selection. APC squads, Sniper II/III and Assaulter III/IV, as well as some legacy Stalingrad squads.

Squads would include:

  • Rifleman I/II/III
  • Assaulter II
  • Radio Operator II

Note: At the time of writing this I am missing radio op II with each faction, so I can’t verify if they have a medic or not.

Medic II:

Medic II would have similar stats to the current Assaulter II, As well as a new feature only the Medic II squad can do.

Buildable Med Box:

This would be a buildable engineer box full of med kits, 150% (15 uses) of the current med box. Soldiers can patch up wounds and gain health regen when touching the box up to 15% back over 30 seconds once the buff is obtained it cannot be obtained again on that squad member. Only one box can be built at a time. This would allow the health regen perk while in combat, But to a lesser extent than the 60% out of combat. Costs 8 resources to build.

The squad would unlock in Tier 3. So for the Soviets they would use the PPsH-41( Box), Lanchester for the Americans, Beretta M1 for Germans, and SIG 1920 for the Japanese. This would unlock in the same slot within tier 3 for every faction.

Motorized infantry divisions:

Renaming these would keep continuity with the type of class while streamlining and simplifying their names so they’re easier to understand and are more organized. Allowing future squads to potentially be introduced, along side new APC options, and Bike options at higher tiers. This would also include the Soviets and Japanese getting a bike squad as they had used in the war.

I have idea on special equipment for medics to build if they have engineer

Makeshift Hospital tent:
If they want to add that, then they should add a way to carry downed people on your backs and adding a command for your squad to either carry downed people or escort the medic carrying downed people (more accurate shots, higher awareness, and forced defensive mode).

Then after building them, you can carry those downed people to those makeshift hospital just to heal them 100%. Optional part being revived in medic tent will give some health and speed bonus for 30 second naming it “Healthy”.

I feel like if you were carrying people, or AI was carrying people they should automatically switch to a pistol if equipped. Usually they only had one arm free, so it would make it a little more realistic.

Such a field hospital a good idea, just let it automatically heal slowly all injured bots near this building.

It will work like the “+100% health regeneration out of combat” perk only it will regenerate health fully.

Matches aren’t long enough and maps aren’t big enough;
might be fun in a “big action mode”.

That’s why I mentioned smaller health regen cap with a buildable engineer box. That 15% at a slightly slower rate would help.

I don’t see the point of doing this. It will only cause confusion since we already have rank 1 Assaulter as legacy squad.

I don’t see the point of renaming those since APC and motorbike have very different functionality. It will just confuse player instead of making it easier to understand. Remember that soldier of all rank from the same class are interchangeable, Rider and APC driver are not.

How is renaming have anything to do with this?

Would be good if its in a big map, but in small map its kind of OP since you can always run back to hospital tent for ez recovery after receiving few hits from smg along. So yeah keep it to downed people level is kind of better. Medic tent will have some bandages to patch yourself up which is better than automatically heal.

Well for the purpose of AI’s buff on escort carrying medic mode is just so you can carry a downed soldier with 2 hands and focus on running before he dies. So switching to pistol is not a good way to run and carry a downed soldier. In real life, they can use stretcher to carry 1 guy with 2 medics on each end and can’t even use weapons. Worse they weren’t issued one even.
