The issue is, the point system was possible back with the campaign because you had a defined number of equipment soldiers was able to use so was simple allocate the point, but now with the BR is to complicated make it work, and open the door to exploits on squad deck
I donât think so. Imo it would work if you removed BRs and instead make 3-4 point brackets. Like low amount of points for early war, med for middle, high for end war and finally unlimited points (basically current BR5). Then you could hardlock equipment from certain brackets.
Maybe. It would take alot of thought (more thought than im prepared to do right now)
But you could simply forget applying points to each item and just use the squads already assigned BR. Then apply the above steel division 2 game phases (1,2 and 3)
Match up one: BR 1,2 and 3
Br 3 gear cant be used in phase 1, limited in phase 2
Matchup two: BR <=3, 4 and 5
Br 5 gear cant be used in phase 1, limited in phase 2
It would also require all players, free and premium to have 10 squad slotsâŚand new game mode to accomodate
AnywayâŚ
Imo phase system while interesting, is too complicated. Remember that enisted player base can barely comprehend game modes with more than one active and stationary objective.
As I said before, the BR system doesnât match this point system very well. If necessary, the current BR system should be abolished, as it has already shown many negative effects.
Also how you allocate the phase? Battle usually are very short
It would be a seperate game mode like warthunder realistic battles. Players learnâŚ
âŚ
Eventually.
Has to start somewhere
Game mode design would have to last up to 30 minutes. SoâŚdifferent modeâŚthrough tweaking capture times, objective sizes and cap lockouts
Thatâs another issue, game mode are usually mixed in the same queue, you can say just make a different matchmaking, but then it will just split the playerbase in more queue because of the historical factions matchmaking and BR, but if we let all factions fight all factions maybe
Definitely there are too many variable to take in account
Indeed, i would love it butâŚgood luck with that aye
I appreciate the fact that youâre sharing your ideas trying to improve the game; however, I donât understand the reason for these additional restrictions. The BR system already sufficiently restricts weapons. In my opinionâin most casesâadditional restrictions means fewer options, which equates to less fun! Thatâs just how I see it.
As I previously mentioned, my German BR V tank squad has 8 tanks in itâand I can only use one. This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, unless itâs a developer choice in hopes that it will motivate us to spend more money buying premium tank squads.
A point based system was already tested in mecha tank walker event but was abandoned for good reason.
The problem is that it only favours skilled players which is a terrible mechanic in a causal game such as Enlisted.
that was a score based system.
A point based (resource pool) system everyone gets the same choices/total resource pool
Uhh never mind , my dementia strikes again.
Never liked such point systems, reminds me too much of CS.
Collect points to be allowed to even play the way you wanted from the beginning seems very limiting to me, while it would also distract people from playing the objective since they would try not to waste their points.
Thatâs not whatâs being suggested or discussed. Youâd get a limited number of points to âspendâ on equipping your selected squads before battle with the total amount of points being limited so you have to make sacrifices (such as half of your infantry being equipped with regular bolt actions and the rest with whatever you choose, or taking a top BR tank but paying for it with more than half of your infantry with bolt actions instead and etc.).
Regarding OP, yeah fully agree with this. Ideally Iâd fiddle with the system so at most roughly 1/3rd of your infantry primaries could be BR3 and up, 1/3rd BR2 and 1/3rd BR1, or like 2/5ths BR3 and up with the rest BR1, with perhaps some extra leeway towards the high end if you take no vehicles (including no APCs). Perhaps backpacks could have some cost as well?
so, only pistols so you can get a Tiger II into BR2?
I mean, it would be hilarious when someone in a biplane blows up your Tiger and forces you to fight through two squads armed only with pistols.
The BR of equipment would not change, so taking a Tiger 2 youâd still play in BR5 but a lot of your infantry would pay for that with having to use Kar98k without grenade launchers and maybe without backpacks. An additional system ontop of the current BR one that would make no actual changes to the matchmaker or queue times, but instead improve gameplay by enforcing weapon and equipment diversity in battles and cut down on full-auto and grenade launcher spam.
More like forced you to leave the match.
Thereâs no way this system would ever work. Itâs just nonsense. And very easily exploitable.
I cannot imagine to experience a good match under such system.
