ok if the garand produced in 1936 and issued in 1937 is br3 the gw41 would be br4 and the gw43 would be br5 thats historically accurate. that would also still put the bar and early thompsons in br1 or 2.
Br 4-5 actually since it was first used in europe 1944.
Quite decent counter to Mp43
Br3 sounds about right, thats around the middle of of war.
Except murrica joined the fight 1944 in europe so BR4 or 5.
But meanwhile you can use british lee-enfields and brens that actually were used before that.
The U.S. first fought in Africa as part of Operation Torch on November 8, 1942, with Allied landings in French Morocco and Algeria during World War II. While the initial goal was to seize key ports and divert Axis forces, this operation marked the first large-scale involvement of U.S. troops in the North African theater. The campaign continued with battles like the Battle of Kasserine Pass, which saw the U.S. face its first major defeat against German forces in February 1943.
so then america can only fight in br4 5 because thats when murrica joined so murrica cant fight in any battles it was not part of. leaving germany to only fight ussr in br 1 2 3. as murrica is not a shrodingers cat itys either fighting the war or its not. it participation begins when it brs begin.
So this is BR3 ?
Well, its historical.
But BR1-2 can be dunkirk regarding western allies for all I care so theres plenty of lee-enfields and brens to use.
and the german were have ton of bolt action rifles if thats when you want to lay br 1 2. but in the current system us and uk fight together and again us can only fight in maps that are in years after there br tech tree starts. so if the us tech tree starts in 1944 for europe thats the brs they can fight in. so if for germany and italy 1944 is br 4 5 then america and its gear all br 4 5 can only fight in br 4 5 sorry no having america using low level british weapons in br 1 2 3.
again br techtree do not start when a faction a enters the war, b enters a theater of war. history starts when they start issuing the weapon to there soldiers.
The Battle of Sicily, beginning in July 1943, was the first large-scale land invasion of Europe by substantial U.S. forces, though smaller groups of American soldiers participated in the 1942 Dieppe Raid and some reconnaissance units may have been on European soil earlier in the war. U.S. ground forces’ initial combat experience was in the North African campaign, prior to the Italy campaign which included Sicily.
wow you must hate the italians
well thats 1939 - 1942
Kiraly 1939 BR1
Mp38/40 BR1
Mg34 / 42 BR 1 & 2
sounds about right vs springfields, lee-enfields and brens.
Quite sure thats when they joined combat in europe.
Well you can use springfields in pacific too if that sounds more appealing.
Except this was historical suggestion.
Theres nothing historical about murrica being in BR of 1939.
And currently ingame its even less like that.
Looks like BR3-4 ? Arguably BR4 as Mp43 kinda fits that timeline.
Unfortunately we just dont have the italy maps.
which would make murrica limited to fighting germany in br 3 4 5
funny japan limited to br 1 2
while the us/allies cant fight germany in br 1 2 cause it was not in the war and lack br 1 2 weapons
again murrica can only fight in brs it fought the war in ‘history’
meaning old br 1 2 gear would just be thrown out but also that almost all small arms would be br3
only planes and tanks would mainly fit in br 4 5 and a few guns
sounds historical and fair garand vs mp43 etc.
Well, thats history.
Quite sure brits were in dunkirk.
Plenty of lee-enfields & brens to use.
Just need a proper map for it & as well as italy maps.
Well brits are in murrican tree.
Well not necessarily, marines used springfields quite alot in early pacific.
ok so it would be a fixed system
playing europe/africa br 1 2 you would be limited to the uk
The first major engagement involving U.S. soldiers in the North African theater of World War II was the Allied invasion of French North Africa, codenamed Operation Torch, beginning on November 8, 1942. While this was the start of their major involvement in the region, the first large-scale battle against experienced German forces occurred during the subsequent Tunisian Campaign, notably at the Battle of Kasserine Pass in February 1943.
UK joining the pacific in 1942 would be limited to br 3 4 5 so not in the pacific. as brs are determined when the country joined the theater not weapon dates or date of joining the war.
Malayan campaign
Date 8 December 1941 – 15 February 1942 (2 months, and 8 days) British declaration of war on Japan - Wikipedia
sorry but this system is shite brs begin when german ‘started ww2’ but each factions weapons ARE PLACE BASEd ON WHEN THEY JOINED THAT WW2 THEAER. in that case i think ‘ww2’ should start earlier than 1939 as i consider other a part of it if us joins the war in europe in 1943. how about the ussr who joined in the invasion of poland allowing any weapon in use at that time to be br1.
so a lot of gear for ussr would be br1
pacific
us 1941
uk 1943
december 1942 rounding up
ussr 1944
europe
germany 1939
ussr 1939
uk 1939
us 1943
africa
us 1942
italy 1939
uk 1941
ger 1941
I think latest soviet vs japan event might have something with it, maybe devs also planning to do some kind “historical” game modes, with historical setups? I dunno, either way I would like to play historical game even if its kar98 vs ppsh1 Tiger vs t34
Thats historical authentic as topic suggests.
Doesnt really sound very historical.
Well USSR invaded winland ~1939.
Then 9 out of ten players of enlisted don’t want you’re authentic
How about authentic loadouta than
Year by year what was the average soldier using
Not just was xyz weapon available but how was the average squad armed
So like for most of the war
Japan and Germany using bolties and smgs with mgs and sa sprinkled in
All brs Germany gets karabinev98k br 12345
UK/us br 12 gets gets lee no4ki1
US/UK 345 gets garand
Given that 13 mil army and only 100k 41s and 400k 43s
Compared to 3 million garands and 6 mil carbines
Br1 39-41 16 months
Br2 41-42 1/2 16 months
Br3 42-43
Br4 43-44
Br5 44+
nor 10 out 10 dont want this
And no, historically authentic mod wont come from devs. Maybe someday once they grant proper modding tools.
I was just pissing on your blatantly obvious murrican bias and the historical bending in your biased favor.
And I’m playing on you German weeaboo
Do I think the garand should be br2 no
Do I think the fg42 should be an infantry rifle no
An authentic ww2 game would
Have no select fire rifles
Be limited to the sg44 for assault rifles
Would not give German RPGs to anyone
Would remove the tiger h and super Pershing
Would limit tiger 2 and 1s they were rare weapons
Would limit semi autos of Germany and Japan
I am giving USSR the side eye but untill proven otherwise
The US was the only country in ww2 to standardize semi auto at any point in the war
LMG would be the only hip shoulder fire mgs
Give German big mags but force the to operate prone
I could say more but it risk becoming too and did
No one wants to fight ww2
They want something between cod and hll
Well played, without that console tag I wouldnt really know are you just genuinely stupid or playing very well.
If you believe the br should be set by the year the faction joined and not by the year the gun was issued
I assume you have brown eyes because you are not half full but fully full of shit
Topic, historical and authentic mod.
MuRiCA sHOulD haVE gAraND BR1 eVeN it wAsNt evEn fIghTinG in 1939.
Well I guess we figured out you really wasnt playing out.
Balancing brs should be based on the weapon
Either an arbitrary number based on stats or temporarily
In degree of escalation
First issued to soldiers
First issued to soldiers of that faction
First used in combat
Not only limiting it to WW2 first use
But first use in Europe is childish
It heavily favors Germany who heavily relied on stolen weapons and tech
Yeah the US dealered war on Germany two years after the war in Europe started
The uk declared war on Japan one year after the US
Russia allied itself with German it was a messy war
It does not detract from the fact that the garand was issued in 1936 while the first semi auto was issued to Germany in 1940
Not that Germany issued mal the karabiner 98k as the main service rifle while the US issued the garand
US was more industrially developed than German
Germany built better but more complex tanks
It’s the definition of apples vs oranges
And either limit the uk/US in Europe/Africa to mid to late war or give it the tools it would have had
That’s the issue before the US arrived Germany was on a streak
Before USSR turned the tide Germany was winning
An accurate, historical ww2 game would not be balanced
Br,1,2 nothing but German domination
3 the only be worth playing
Before br4,5 in which Germany is now getting rolled
No one want to play a game where the are either always winning or always loosing
Germany had great tech but could not produce it in quantities to win the war
Again bolt actions start to finish
They tried to leap from semi autos as such Germans were limited to bot actions
Focused on heavy tanks instead of the panther
Invaded Poland mostly using horses for logistics
No one wants to play ww2 they want to play saving private ryan
