I made a post about this in March, and your matchmaking is still laughably broken. It seems to have actually gotten worse, if anything. This is why desertion is so common.
Your answer to desertion was to try to penalize people for leaving matches that are obvious wastes of time. Rather than fixing the system causing the problem, you added insult to injury. I can’t speak for everyone, but it hasn’t changed a thing for me – I AM going to desert if my team stands no chance, and I’ve seen plenty of posts echoing that sentiment, so draw your own conclusions.
I said it before, I’ll say it again, and I’ll probably have to say it a few dozen more times based on how this developer seems to have very little interest in addressing core gameplay issues: No one wants to play “stomp or be stomped” - it’s not fun to be on either side of that. There’s no satisfaction in winning against people that play like this is their first FPS, and there’s nothing but frustration in getting thrown into a match you never had a chance of winning.
Fix it.
