I don’t really get their thought pattern 100% tbh. Like I understand where they were coming from but it just didn’t work. Like tier 3 is supposed to be one up or down but who is gonna want to play tier 4 still? Like if most people are playing tier 2 or 5 when you get uptiered most of the time your going against tier 5 rather than 4 as a tier 3

its simple there arent japanese players,playerbase move around the faction that get the proper content and its happen to be sov so everyone is dogpiling on soviets/usa right now
I’ve had a different experience. I play mostly Russian and American - and there have been few of the matches I’ve been in where it was overwhelmingly weighted to either side when it comes to game experience.
Also, I played EST on the NA server, and my squads are set up with BR2 or less.
These are my Pacific battles from the last 4 days.
Sadly, the Pacific seems to be rather empty atm.
To compensate, I also play Germany, and get totally wrecked by Russians every battle on every map

Playing as a full team is still the biggest meta.
For me, I am happier with the new match making then I was before, and I did a lot of bitching about it before. Before, 80% of my matches were seal clubbings and the vast majority of those never went past the first objective. Now I get a seal clubbing on occasion, however a much higher percentage is going to at least the 3rd objective, and many more are not decided till the last. It doesn’t mean I am winning any more as I played Allies and Germans yesterday and won 2 and lost 7. Only one loss was German. Then, I went back and played after 1 am and won about 80% of those with the allies. So, is it perfect? No, but it never will be. Ideally in a perfect world level 1 should only play level 1, level 2 play level 2 and so fourth, but I doubt that will ever come to pass.
Personally I am finding out that at least half my matches now it is not so much the match making, but the ignorance of many playing. I mean, if your objective is to defend, how hard is it to stay somewhere NEAR the area you’re supposed to defend? 70% of the time, it feels like I AM THE ONLY ONE defending and everyone else is out roaming the countryside freelancing for kills. 
The matches would be better if people actually tried to do the objective.

Yeah the “solution” players came up with was never going to work, the game devs were kind of just forced into doing it. Whether or not matchmaking is balanced perfectly, nobody is ever going to be playing tier 3 or 4, it just doesn’t make sense. Tier 5 is unique because its a full auto cold war esque vibe. Br 2 is unique because its the lowest br and isn’t chaotic, while still being more powerful than br 1. What’s the point of playing tier 3, which is just mid tanks and guns. The only people that are playing tier 3 are people that are grinding to tier 5, so the rule can rarely be implemented.
I do 4 with Germany, it’s pretty fun and I usually end up just fighting BR3 Americans. And I’ve definitely run into some people that are only running 4 themselves.
Well I play all BRs and switch around quite alot.
BR3 was my least favourite BR because of fighting against either BR1 or BR5, but the setting was still very pleasing.
Most tanks and guns at BR3 are the most iconic WW2 weaponry, so to speak playing BR3 should feel the most WW2 possible.

Panthers are pretty unfair against BR3 players - while still being pretty much strong enough to fight BR5 stuff.
Tigers should sit in BR4 instead.

Well, one of them is.
Yeah true, but that is pointless to pick as long as Panthers are at the same BR.
Just look at how Tigers perform against Jumbos - both cant really penetrate each other, while Panthers can.
Barrel sniping is boring gameplay - but at least its fair game. A Jumbo has zero chance against Panthers.
Also that way, that terrible Jagdpanzer IV (A) could stay in BR4 as a early access tank with the L70 gun.

With release of Sherman Jumbo, Tiger really is joke on BR5.
But so is Pz IV on BR4.
