Martini Henry rifle as golden order weapon to the Tunisia Campaign

Okay, yeah i know this rifle is not historically correct to be used in WW2, but hey apparently its was used in the modern Afghanistan conflict to this day, why wouldn’t it find its way somehow to the enlisted ?

A legendary firearm known from WW1 used by the British since 1871 replacing the muzzleloading system and stepping to a modern cartridge. The cartridge is known as .577/450 and propellant used is black powder so when its fired it makes a lot of smoke (fun-factor)

image

Its rate of fire was 12 rounds per minute and bullet velocities were 1300 ft/s or 400 m/s and its effective range was up to 1900 yards or 1700 meters

To the people that like first person shooters this gun is known in BF1. I suggest this rifle to have one shot kill or at least wound soldier up to mid ranges, is it effective compared to a regular bolt action rifles ? Absolutely not. But its a nice piece of history, legendary gun and i think it would be great addition to the game. Im aware devs have a lot more important things to do, but i know i’d get this gun if its ever put into the game. Not for its rate of fire or effectiveness, but as excellent piece of engineering, and one of greatest guns (imo) in history.

Since we’re having Berdan in Moscow campaign, i see no reason why we shouldn’t have a single shoot black powder breech loader into the Tunisia campaign, it fits the theme.

Berdans smoke effect should be much more sophisticated than is now, atm it looks silly

Also look at Madsen rifle 1888

Also i would give americans some Winchester lever thingy in normandy even when maybe there was not even one used in WW2

Honestly, why don’t we go all out and make the next batch of gold weapons all be old historical guns?

That Madsen is super complex …damn

Yeah a lever gat for americans would be awesome …imagine Winchester 1887 Shotgun as golden order weapon in Normandy, that would be awesome
Very unrealistic but hey, its cool hehe

If you’re not sarcastic, ddding Vetterli rifle to the Axis in Tunisia would be awesome

Just to be on par with the Martini Henry goodness hehe

No, I’m 100% serious.
And yeah, that does sound like a decent suggestion for the axis.
Maybe another option could be the Dreyse needle gun. A bit on the older side, but I bet Darkflow could make it work.

The red army at Moscow have Berdan so it would be nice to have Martini
also loved this boy in BF1 :purple_heart:

Dreyse needle gun would be cool af, putting paper cartridges reload animation and needle poking out when pulling out the bolt would be nice to see

Or even the Werndl rifle too, neither Dreyse of Werndl found presence in any of the games tho it would be unique and great addition but somehow i feel like they would be a better fit for the Axis on the Moscow campaign

Better fit time-wise, but imo the location of either normandy or berlin would fit them more. Though I would actually prefer moscow cause I paly it the most.
