Marder III H: Redistribute some shells into HE shells

I think the Marder III H suffers from a few issues, but one big one is the ammo distribution. Since you mostly face infantry in enlisted you want a lot of HE shells if possible. However the Marder is only granted 10 of them, which makes you basically run out immediately. The APCR rounds can be situationally nice, but most of the time the aphe shells are enough, so fewer APCR shells could be a good tradeoff. Maybe trade 5 APCRs into 5 HEs, then you’d have about even shells against armored targets and soft targets.
The smoke shells are a bit of a heavy cost with so few shells in general, but I guess it’s nice to have a few.

This is an anti-armor vehicle. If you want better general performance, why not just play PZ.IV G?

I do think it’s better to bring the Pz IV in general.
Tho I do think even as an anti armor vehicle the Marder would want more HE shells than it currently has. There is just simply not always tanks around to shoot, while there is nearly always infantry around. So even in matches the enemy brough a lot of tanks I found myself running dry of HE shells quite quickly.

And when considering anti armor at BR III, then there would be the argument on why not simly bring the Pz IV J instead. It’s gun performs similarly against armor, has better survivability and due to it being turreted also can get into better spots to shoot at enemies. It’s firerate is better and isn’t crippled as soon as you loose a single crewmate. It also has the ammunition to be good both against infantry and vehicles.

So honestly in general I don’t think bringing the Pz IV into the discussion changes anything. The Marder should be able to stand on it’s own. And with how little HE shells it has it tends to have an extremely short combat time, till you’re facing the choice of spending way to much time to rearm, wait for enemy tanks and do nothing during that time or abandon the vehicle and move forward as infantry.

The ability to freely choose the amount of each ammo type, would fix it for so many vehicles. I dont need more than 25x 5 cm Pzgr.39, please let me fill the remaining with Sprgr.38.

I agree there are many tanks that would benefit greatly from this. though I think it can become a balance issue then since shell amounts can be used to nerf or buff tanks depending, kinda like the fixed payload options on planes
