Maps that I would like to see enlisted in the future

Well I don’t want to go on too long in this post, so I’ll get straight to the point.

Pacific War:
I know that Japan is about to receive a new location in Manchuria, however I would like it to also have more maps in the Pacific, of which I highlight the following:

1.battle of Iwo jima
From February 19 to March 26, 1945, one of the bloodiest battles of the Second World War and one of the most important battles for the United States in the war took place. Capturing the enclave was of vital importance for US forces since from the Iwo Jima airfields, the United States could carry out air attacks on nearby Japanese territories. This battle, due to its importance and its crudeness, should be enlisted.

2.Battle of Okinawa
From April 1, 1945 to June 21, 1945, the Battle of Okinawa took place, the largest amphibious assault of pacific front. The main objective of the invasion was to seize the large island of Okinawa only 550 km away from Japan and give a moral blow to Japan, this battle due to its massiveness and brutality would be a great addition to enlisted.

3.Battle of peleliu
From September 15 to November 27, 1944, the Battle of Peleliu took place on the Palau Islands. The battle lasted more than two months. This battle remains one of the toughest on the Pacific front, also the most futile and controversial of the war, due to its questionable strategic value and the large number of American and Japanese casualties. I will be honest with you, I only suggest this battle because of my memories of Call of Duty world at war.

Tunisia (North africa “campaing”)
For this “campaign” I suggest:

1.From February 19 to 29, 1943, the Battle of Kasserine Pass took place. The battle was the first major confrontation between American forces and Axis forces in the North African Campaign during World War II. The inexperienced and poorly led American troops suffered enormous casualties and were quickly driven back more than 80 km from their initial positions west of the Faïd Pass. This confrontation left enormous consequences on the American forces, although the complete disaster had been avoided, the Battle of the Kasserine Pass was one of the humiliating defeats for the American forces in their first major clash with the Germans. It was a victory for Erwin Rommel, he should be enlisted.

2.Alemein
From July 1 to November 3, 1942, the battles of Alamein occurred. It was the Axis’ first major defeat in North Africa and prevented Germany from taking possession of key strategic objectives.

I have other locations in mind, but I think I’ve gone on too long already, so I’ll leave it here. For Stalingrad I also suggested new locations which are in my last post. And regarding this post, I did it a little hastily so if I was wrong in any detail, data or date, please correct me.

All those battles in the Pacific are all too similar to each other, with the maps of Japan that are out there now being just awful. It would be great to see Burma with its memorable architecture for some map variety in the Japan vs US/England confrontation:

lol, it’s all but deserts, how do you play it being infantry?

I really wish this game would take more hints from Forgotten Hope 2. Everything is there, besides it still beong active. FOR FREE as well.

Oh, please no more island maps. They all suck.
Cant we just get Burma or Indochina? And maybe the Philippines if it is deep in the land enough not to have stupid carrier spawns.

I agree.

Im not against more American Pacific maps, certainly really famous ones like Iwo Jima. However my concern as you mention has always been that authentically and as far as objectives and so forth these would be too similar to existing maps.

The Pacific really needs a a change.

I fully support Burma, definitely interesting and unique (never done in a game before) temples and so forth would be cool.

As an Australian Ive been asking for New Guinea like the Kokoda Track, Rabaul and Lae. Australia and New Zealand are literally in the Pacific and it was Australian troops in New Guinea who were the first to stop the Japanese on land.

The Kokoda Track as a more infantry based battle just makes sense to me as an FPS map, both PNG and Burma would provide proper jungle fighting which would be cool and a specifically Commonwealth/British VS Japan option.

Id also suggest Singapore + Malaya as a unique urban map or more jungle fighting.

Ive seen Manila suggested a lot, its another American campaign but urban warfare would be interesting and new and Manila works for both early and late war.

As for the desert well again as an Australian my thoughts go to Tobruk.

Its a proper city so urban warfare, a port so change of scenery and various opportunities for different playstyles and objectives. It is also an opportunity for Australian, New Zealand, Free Polish, Free Czech, British Indian and South African squads to be added.

Furthermore as Ive mentioned elsewhere, since we are getting a specifically Australian guerilla squad, why not get some Dutch East Indies/Timor maps since thats where they operated (as well as PNG). Free Dutch premium squad could be interesting too.

Thank you for sharing this.

100% agree, heaps of great options there (RIP I forgot about Bardia).

Theres early war France (I wasnt familiar enough with all the battles), Greece, Crete, Finland and Poland battles, all the different desert battles for UK, USA AND Commonwealth,
Plenty of content.

I just dont understand why DF just copy pastes existing assets when creating ‘new’ maps. The Tunisia and Pacific maps all look the same.

I understand reusing some assets but Id much rather them take longer to give us a completely new location than we wait months for a ‘new’ map but its just the same old, same old, and we’ve forgotten it was even new after a week.

Well, I suggested maps like Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Peleliu not only because of their popularity or strategic values, I also chose them because the enlisted Pacific literally does not have a landing map (which is strange since we have the Solomon Islands in the game) despite the fact that in reality the majority of combats in the Pacific were landings on Japanese islands. I’m also not saying that those 3 maps will be added at once, or that all 3 will be in the game, it would be nice to have iwo jima to complement that missing landing element and a second different map that takes us a little away from the islands theme, like Burma or the Philippines, as you mention.

Regarding the current Pacific maps, they are not at all bad, their design is quite good, the problem they have in common is that it is evident that the devs did not feel like it or were simply too lazy to locate each capture point in specific, coherent or at least strategic areas, instead these capture points were put randomly, leaving as a result areas almost impossible to attack or defend, especially in Guadalcanal. But overall they are decent maps.

Regarding Tunisia, I chose the Kasserine Pass map because of its importance in the Tunisian campaign and because it represented a victory (although somewhat bitter due to the loss and lack of resources) for Rommel’s army and well, in the game there are not many maps or campaigns, with the exception of Rzhev, where the axis in reality has been victorious.

The idea of this post and the previous one is that the Stalingrad, Tunisia and Pacific “campaigns” receive new locations, they do not necessarily have to be the ones I suggested.
