[Map] Terrace Assault

After making Hidden Palace , “Standoff” , Nuketown and Tropics gun games and the suprisingly successfull Battle in the Ural Region, i figured i would make a map that, again is larger and suitable for bigger battles, but still playable online, while utilizing the techniques and tricks i learned while making the aformentioned maps.

This is

Terrace Assault

The main idea was this: 4 levels of playable area connected by pathways. The axis team attacks from the foot of the hill, the lowest “level”. Allies spawn at the top of the hill. Let’s start from the bottom.

AXIS/JAPANESE HQ

Axis has two HQs. The HQ is the base of operations; This is where you:

  • Spawn (amazing right? who would have thought?)
  • Equip weapons (more on this later)
  • Or mount the anti-aircraft guns.

Using the pathways up you can get to one of the 4 objectives. Which are located in the village.

Strategic locations are:

The church

School

Barn

House

The pathways are for tanks and AI. There isn’t any limit where you can go up the next level.

The top of the hill gives home to the

Allied HQ

Has the same purpose as the other team’s HQ.

Both teams have access to special weaponary. The japanse team gets a totally not fictional licensed version of the MP43 with a slightly reduced fire rate.


I don’t speak japanese. If “Assault rifle” is not asarutoraifuru in japanese feel free to correct me.

The american special gun is still a question. Probably an automatic garand rifle, or buffed M2 Carbine.

All type of vehicles are supported (except motorcycles)

not to sound rude, but if you are asking for feedbacks and what not, wouldn’t it be smarter to release the thread with the mod ready? to keep up with the momentum. or people might forget it

I don’ t want to upload half finished maps to the portal. It needs some finishing touches.

took me alot of time to find it because the search function of the portal is atrocious.

and regarding the map it self, lucekly, despite the guy using my map, he made it more historical accurate.

i’d like to remind that personally, i’m not against it, as long people give credits.

so, essentially, he did used my map with custom bunkers and what not. like, the version i did with the removal of hesco barriers. https://sandbox.enlisted.net/post/zECTeB6CCoSjeus9/

which took me a whole week.

and this guy just made a map on it and didn’t even credited me for the base.

how do i know it? because the bunkers and the port area are exactely the same. without even considering that some boxes that i left indestructible are still there, and he didn’t changed nor fixed the new concrete barriers that are inside due to the update.

and… lasty, i placed some sort of easter egg because i’m a psyco and prentively thought about people potentially stealing it in the future. needless to say it was there too.

this shows that some people ( even though i believe the majority… because outside me, you, tommy, devendder and schyrikami. i haven’t saw anyone else credit people ) do not credit authors.

anyway, regarding your mod.

dunno if it’s just me, but it fails to download it properly:

There is a reason i linked the navmesh file too. You don’t generate navmesh with lot of cliff assets. Just take a look at the size. (74mb).

Sandbox portal allows max combined (scene.blk + navmesh) size of 10mb. I made a seperate map just for navmesh which brought down size from 74mb to 9mb.

Some players may just want to add their own content.

For me, most of the time, I can live with that.
