People are fed up with the snowy mountain map, it appears too many times in low br, almost never in tunisia, among all other maps there is recently some randomness, but please, less snowy mountain
Hear! Hear!
I don’t mind mountain pass, its actually not a bad map. But yes cannot agree more it appears waaayyy too often and I also agree we very rarely see Tunisia now.
I stopped playing Germans precisely to avoid snow maps lol. Also funny that I finally got an Australian squad (guerillas), yet very rarely if ever get to use them in the Pacific with their proper uniform.
it´s not bad, it just appear TOO much, the map is amazing, yet please lesser it a bit would be good
This has just been changed now - the percentage chance of the new map is now in-line with other maps.
In future, we will make the new maps more common for a shorter period, rather than an elongated period of time, which will hopefully avoid the gradual shift towards animosity when referring to the new maps added to the game.
thanks for your explain major!
Thank you sir for letting us know and taking player feedback on board.
I am curious how you guys determine what becomes a new map?
You may have seen my various posts where I lament the situation where the developers spend months on a ‘new’ map… only for it to be just a copy paste of existing assets in a very similar situation (Pacific and Tunisia maps especially).
As I’ve also said many times before, this means that ‘new’ maps are forgotten as being new very quickly and become boring.
Now I will agree that Mountain Pass is a significant change for the Allies since it is our first proper snow map. I also think its a pretty good map, though myself and others were a tad disappointed it uses the exact same church, powerhouse and tent army camp as various existing maps.
Nevertheless as I’ve argued Id like to see real difference for new maps. For the Pacific for example all of our maps are limited to a specific part of the Solomon Islands.
Hence I’ve argued for New Guinea (more inland, jungle style maps like the Kokoda Track; it was also the first place where an Allied army stopped the Japanese on land).
Others have argued for Manila, which would be our first Japanese urban warfare map + Allies only really have Omer.
Burma has been a further suggestion, again inland and a completely different environment to existing Allies vs Japan maps.
Now I want to emphasise my comment here is not to demand you specifically make the maps I personally have requested, I am merely wishing to understand how the devs think about map choices/creation.
Like I’ve noted you guys seem to prefer generic maps representing an environment like ‘desert’ ‘snow’ ‘Pacific island’ rather than real life battles or places like Tobruk, Rabaul, or Cologne for example.
