[Map] Normandy Urban Combat

Good day everyone! After the overwhelming positive feedback on “Battle in the Urals” i have come up with another map, situated on the western front in an unknown French town. This is:

Normandy Urban Combat
I will figure out a proper name later

The battle is at the outskirts of the town, it has both CQC combat with narrow-ish streets as well a small farm if you like longer range engagements

Because it’s not THAT large and invasion is pain in the ass to set up the gamemode is domination. Currently i set up 4 zones:

Deployed Radar Station

The Stable

House #1

House #2

Currently cannot be played online, scene size is 7mb.
(It is also incomplete as i want to add more details to the town)

Here is the scene.blk for you to try this:
scene.txt (6,9 MB)
Navmesh is around 15-16mb. You can generate is yourself.

As usual do not upload to the sandbox portal.

Development screenshots/dev(b)log:

The original idea was much smaller. I wanted a single conquest zone with the Church in it.

Then i figured i wanted to make a town anyway, so i started to expand the map.

At this point i needed to figure out how to block the playable part of the map from the scenery. I needed something that fits the map well. I have used what most games use: barricades, and piles of debris.

This doesn’t block the player from crossing into areas that they shouldn’t cross though, it is purely for aesthetics and for tanks.

I have used the “aerial” version of buildings (the low poly houses) to make the town look bigger in the distance. At this point the town layout was finalized.

As you can see to create some kind of immersion the scenery of the level is 2x as big as the actual playable area. The background smoke was also removed because i found it too much.
