It’ll be a nice thing if we have some sort of map marker so we know what the objectives are and where the fall back points are And locations so we can fortify in advance of an objective falling
Trust me, I ask for this all the time, and everyone’s response is always the same:
“We don’t want to have to deal with fortresses. It slows down the game.”
Despite defense not being capable of defending in MOST games.
I agree 1,000% that we need to know the location of all objectives in advance so that we can have an opportunity to set up. I don’t care that people might be “offended” that I’m not on the front line getting blasted to bits in an attempt to give them ammo that isn’t going to make any difference ultimately. (Especially when I only get like 18 points when they refill with enough ammo to get 10+ kills = 300+ points.)
Instead, I’d rather be the person setting up fortifications to actually make a difference on the future objective.
Have a rally point ready so that defenders can actually get to the objective in a timely fashion.
Have mines set up for both infantry and tanks. This way there is actually something to hold them back a bit.
I find it interesting that everyone likes to complain that “defense has infinite tickets” yet defenders aren’t really allowed to “DEFEND” themselves.
this is a false statement. defense not being capable of defending is not on side, but on team.
No. The core mechanics for being able to set up an effective defense simply are not there.

Trying to set up on the current objective is basically futile.
-
There are very few guaranteed locations for objectives. Many of them are picked at random between 2 possible locations, so you often don’t know where future objectives will be.
-
Setting up in advance is currently a risk because you may accidentally fortify the wrong position an that time and resources will have been for nothing.
-
Fortifications are pretty weak as is, so just a couple really isn’t capable of doing much. It requires a fair number of fortifications to really make a difference on defense.
-
There is no time in between objectives, so defenders often arrive at the next objective AFTER the enemy. This also means no time to set up.
map is already premade for defense. you want invulnerable defense, while map balance needs cap to be vulnerable enough to be capped with sufficient losses when both teams are somewhat even.
Most matches I play in Berlin it’s rare if you can even hold the first objective So yes it would be nice to know where we are going or where the fall back points are
