Map grid and marks

Just refreshing the suggestion and NEED for a map grid. It’ll make orientation, bombing and using mortars not only more precise but also realistic.

Another issue I’d suggest are the marks for infantry.
Wouldn’t it make sense to give players the option to remove any marks (not only those you set by yourself) of targets that are either taken out or not any longer at the marked position?
It’ll help to ease confusion about target sightings.
I had this a lot of times when team members set a mark on a window of a single sniper - I took them out, but wasn’t able to remove the mark in order to say “target is taken out”.

Project reality has a very nice map cordinates i think should be a great model to folow.

also alternative markers instead of only one marker should be great has well.

Grid might be helpfull.

Right now I use the distance between me and the objective to have a reference of distance.

No, how will you know the target is really destroyed? Killing one sniper at a window doesn’t mean there won’t be more in the house. Moreover, the mark doesn’t only mean there is a target need to be destroyed, it can also mean the place that need attention. Removing other player’s mark will also cause confusion.

If marks have a different meaning then they should alter their appearance.
Color coding might help. They managed to differ markers from tanks, vehicles, structures - but not for infantry being there or not. I consider that as an issue.
You also won’t know if the enemy is taken out OR there is a point of attention when these marks disappear after a few secs, just a side note.

Then just let it disappear? Since it is only a few second. Besides that, it is also important to know there was enemy at the place. Moreover, can we really trust the player who remove the marking really finish the job?

Can you really trust the player who set the mark?
Point is - a mark set will drag attention.
And my experience is that most set markers are either not precise, too late or false at all.
If there was a marker for (estimated) rally points - that’d make sense even if they are not fully accurate.
Infantry markers should only be set by players for static sightings. But usually infantry moves and the markers show an indicator of where they have been many seconds ago, but still drag the attention. If a players could remove these marks after checking that it’s all clear, then this could only be an advantage for the rest of the team.
Falsely set markers will happen then as well as falsely removed ones - but that’d be still okay with me.

We can agree on markers being and remaining a question of reliability.
But they need to be improved. Removing is one of the options.

Even Warthunder has attention to the designated grid square! So, yeah.

I like this - in terms of removing other people’s marks, yes it could be annoying - but if there were different marks then shouldn’t be an issue - colour coding like above.

Say red for active target which can be removed once killed, yellow for something cautionary - would be handy if they were directional too! Indicate direction of travel to your team.

Would also be handy to have a mark that wasn’t public for your personal squad instructions. Say I want my squad to focus somewhere to cover me but there isn’t necessarily an active target. Would also be good to come with an option for covering fire to force a sniper into cover while I move.
