I just have to make a post about this even if its done before but I have been trying to grind the rd-44 before the new update and I have to say berlin has the worst map design out of all the campaigns. Whether its based on historical locations or not they have the ability to change the objective locations. I normally would not care enough to post about it but seeing as the new update is going to force any campaign map even if you hate it I just want to put it out there, if you give us little to no control over the maps we play you are going to have a fuckton of people quitting maps, and increasing the desertion penalty will not help. You could ban me for 3 days if I quit 5 berlin matches in a row and I would not care I’ll just stop giving you my money and play something else until its over. I really like pretty much all the other campaigns and have zero complaints but berlins maps are just trash in my opinion. Be it the rubble that fucks movement literally everywhere or the lack of concern of what a linear danger area is and just putting objectives in locations where there is only one approach because the other 2 lanes are farmville for the enemy team. I don’t want this to seem like a post purely on complaints which is why its in suggestions but hopefully inspire creativity in future map designs because you aren’t going to let us choose them anyway.
Hey, while I too don’t enjoy Berlin maps design I don’t think they are bad, they just don’t fit the way some people like to play, like me, other enjoy that way more than the open fields on Moscow or Tunisia.
About the other issue, you will have quite a bit of control of what maps you get, as players will be matched by a equipment rank system maps will too be tiered to certain equipment ranks and that has been explained quite a lot for people with the same concern as you on the new update.
It’s okay, mate. You can stop cuy I will not stop. They’ll be okay.
Stalingrad maps are the best when it comes to urban maps
Ive never really enjoyed urban warfare across shooters but stalingrad maps are definitely great
Berlin maps are absolut cool. I like them. Only the train map sucks.
Train is the best
You can do Big brain moves
Urban maps are basically: push frontally with brute force
I actually really love the maps but the objectives dont take advantage of how good some of them are. They are in poor locations and too linear. I also, like I have been writing on nearly every post, think that suppression would make these maps better. The open spaces would be much harder to cross and force people in to the trenches etc if suppression was in game.
Yeah, there is nothing more fun than pushing the bridge where defenders have about 50 rally spots and attackers maybe 2 decent ones, the defending tanks can sit so far back that nothing but planes can touch them, while attacking tanks basically spawn directly in the open. And the opera, where one side can put 50 rallies at every level and attackers can’t really put one that isn’t obvious and immediately countered. And that ballroom. And the courtyard
it’s because the area around univermag is an epic battle that really has a great play, wide boulivards that need to be crossed and a lot of alleyways and backstreets with plenty of cover.
creates a sense of the battle being house to house, block to block that I’m not sure the berlin maps are good at replicating… too many bridges.
