Introduction
This post will discuss how the atmosphere of most maps seem to be very bright and colourful, and potential changes they can add to it, or improve.
I originally took inspiration from another post which I’d like to give credit for, and a link which I always do with my other sources. However, the creator has probably deleted it or something.
Now be aware that this topic is mainly focusing on the Western and Eastern theatres.
Main Focus
I find it that the colour or atmosphere of most maps seem all positive and bright, such as some of the Normandy campaign ones.
As you can see there, you should instantly notice how vibrant the colours of the atmosphere, giving it such positive connotations, like if nothing is happening.
It just seems nothing war-like if that’s the best I can describe it.
Improvements
Perhaps adding a more darker tone, to add to the grimness of the situation.
Some of Berlin’s maps definitely nail this.
And as well as the new Ardennes maps.
So as I said, there should be more of a grey, depressive atmosphere to some maps.
I can pretty much explain it better in pictures and screenshots to get my point across.
So it would make more sense to definitely see some darkness.
Conclusion
That’s it.
I was writing this during a Hell Let Loose match. And ended up dead in the end.
