Many maps are too narrow

One of the issues I tend to find very frequently in enlisted is that many maps, specially in city maps are too narrow for flanking maneuvers specially armored flanking maneuvers, in berlin for example there are several objectives where only 2 or 3 roads are in the play area, which results in all of them been easily locked down and mined by the defending team, which results in a front fight in which the team that has the most armored vehicles and most firepower/mgs aiming down the line will win most of the time.

This is specially bad in mix tier battles because the disparity in fire power becomes hard to compensate with tactical skill as the space to out play your opponents is too limited for such kind of moves to be effective.

As such I propose to increase the play area on the sides to provide more space for flanking maneuvers.

This has been an issue since day one. Some new maps are made bigger but not all and old maps haven’t been touched.

I agree on some very specific maps, like that Berlin railroad map, if you get uptiered at BR 3 for example on that map, you can get destroyed by BR 5 heavy tanks unable to do much against them yourself because there is almost no flanking on that map at all. River map near the river being another issue but that’s getting a rework to fix. I would say a large majority of maps besides those have proper flanking routes/guerrilla usability to flank.

I will check the maps, I do not remember them by name but there are several objectives in the berlin maps, and a couple in Moscow/Stalingrad that have the same chock points with nearly no flanking space.

I can remember form the top of my head the industrial zone in Stalingrad where there is only a main corridor at one side and the factory floors in the rest, which kills any chance to flank with a vehicle, giving the advantage to the more armored tanks.

I’d agree flanking tanks is pretty rough on enlisted sometimes, American maps have the highest chance to do that but generally pretty rough. I was thinking infantry in my comment since that’s most of gameplay, and you can flank/bomb/guerrilla most tanks that give you grief at the back in most maps. Eastern front maps also tend to be rougher, but I think my previous comment considering infantry flanking still stands.

I played HLL the maps are not bad but some mechanics and physics are damn silly Enlisted is way more better than Hell Let Loose. I hope we get soon sutch big maps with more options to choose cuz i take every time the way to flank in HLL i got a very good match and this i nevere can have on example Berlin maps what the topic creator says, not only there but the greyzone should allso be away then we dont have campers in greyzone though too… Cuz in HLL i didnt saw greyzone appart from the side of the map but this moveing greyzone as here without that it seemed good. Maps need to be bigger here in this game and when a team holds together we dont need Greyzone just a bigmaps with many options. I hope i writed good things try to help for all cheers:wink::blush:

I despise gavutu for this exact reason.

one of the reasons why i hate any maps with river crossing… they force you in choke points and bots dont have good pathfinding. anytime you try to swim they get killed on those choke points.

The shitty one that has the greyzone wrap around the left flank of the attackers, while the ocean blocks their right flank. the amount of damage you can do from the safety of the greyzone on that Island is disgusting

exactly its one of the reasons I argued guerillas should be allowed boats. The whole point of guerillas is to flank and get behind enemy lines, especially in a situation where an uptier tank for example is stopping anyone from crossing the only bridge.

Guerillas are pointless imo if they are prevented by the game from flanking (obviously if you get shot well that sucks but is reasonable)

Same with jeeps and such.

I understand it might seem OP but personally I dont see much difference a squad of regular infantry racing to an objective in a jeep and a guerilla squad doing the same.

Just on the original post, yeah 100%. Like some Normandy maps the objective is literally like 5 metres away. Super squashed with no place for tanks and lord help anyone who doesnt spam SMGs.

I have further suggested adding buildable Bailey bridges and such for engineers as well as bulldozers.

Both of these, like real life, would allow smart teams to create pathways around obstacles.

As others have said its not just oh theres a river here. Its oh theres a river and the only bridge is blocked by a generated tank hulk and a destroyed player tank so now NO ONE can cross and theres absolutely no way to move those obstructions.

Id say add bulldozers and let em move tank hulks as well as bulldoze paths through trees and just generally getting rid of all the junk lying around that prevents tanks and APCs from doing their job.

theres the differency

Moscow map is truly a wasted potential.
