Mamooth in the room - No Voice Team Chat?

There is a key binding, but i never listened someone use it

It’s only for your own stack, and not team wide.

THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!

The thing I hate the most in games with voiced chats is when a lil 12 yrs old kid tries to give orders with his squeaky voice, or when an idiot listens to music in background.

Discord exists. Plus, I don’t want team voice chats. With how toxic this game can get, that’s the last thing you need. Incels and kids whining down the microphone.

Oh, but that’s the funny part! When the noobola tries giving orders. I usually TK when that happens just because. It’s going to be something when steam arrives… As for the music part, I don’t really care because I never deal with that.

It never happened to you?

When some retard is not set to “push to talk” and listen to loud, bad and annoying music, so the entire team ends up enduring annoying noises until they find out to mute the guy?

Happens even outside of games, in online conferences… always an idiot who forget… always
…

No, it never happened to me. Good to say. The only thing I get is annoying kids who don’t shut up after a while. All they do is blather in the mic, which is one of the reasons I don’t do VC much; it ruins my concentration, etc.

In conferences, no, usually the people I find myself around are respectful enough not to do so.

Anyway, I like how the Russians used to play in a particular game, quiet asf, and only occasionally someone said something. And they didn’t need handholding or anything else, they just won games.

You are very lucky, then.

But having experienced it or not, it’s one of the reasons why team voice chat isn’t implemented in game. That and Enlisted players are extremely toxic in general.

I’d love a text chat lobby outside of matches however.

Yes, as I’ve said already. Honestly why we’ve taken to TKing some “special” types. Devs too lax. “Grr how dare you take matters into your own hands!” As a friend put it.

And yes, I support a text chat out of the action game. But it has to be friends only. To prevent spam of “fan” mail, or whatever. I usually use Discord in these circumstances, but it gets annoying, especially when I’m trying to make it private, but as I put the link out there, not so much. It seems like a simple matter to just add a text chat lobby. Agreed with you there.

that is why i loved counter strike with its console. you could easily switch voice chat on and off with simple command. individually muting teammates can be a chore…

i wish the game in general had more social options, you can’t even chat with your group while you are in the lobby, or send PM to your friends.

I can only imagine how terrible it would be.

berated for building a rally too close to someone else’s
or not building one quickly enough
berated for flying a “useless” fighter
heckled for running a premium squad
called a useless noob when you’re building a rally 1m into game and your “team” loses the point
called all sorts of degenerate terms for using an AP mine

I could continue.

Toxic enough in text chat. Vitriol for literally nothing.

The last thing I want is a bunch of strangers screaming into my headset about how they want me to play or how great they think they are at the game.

12 year olds hate this one simple trick…

Which is why it’s a terrible idea. And frankly, so is a non-voice chat out of the action game without some precautions. I mean, I know y’all have some way of communicating out of the game. I’d just use that. Plus side for me, is I’m moderating my space, so retard shit doesn’t happen and is rare if it does.

@Ron_McKracker And I don’t mind if they actually added that small feature to the non-voice too. I keep the battle chat up and about, because, usually, there is someone who is quite useful and coordinates, etc. So, it’s not all bad. Just need to add it for the occasional kid or moron.

Yes.

The problem is when you’re already in a fight and THEN the kid starts screaming orders or directions.

And the game you’re playing doesn’t show WHO is talking :no_mouth: (was often like this in older games).

Had to manually find who and mute, but by then the opposite team already pushed through…

lol. What game did this happen at? I guess I’m quite lucky then. I never really had to listen to that garbage. Though when it does happen, I do find it hilarious, especially with those voices they got.

Though, those cod lobbies did get wild back in the day…

You mean the leaderboards didn’t show who’s mic had noise coming out of it?

Yes… Happened a lot in good old RO1 & 2.
or the very first call of duty, etc.

OH!

Also back in the day, BEFORE devs tried to normalize games for consoles, PC multiplayers shooters were 50 vs 50… Could take a while finding the kid.

Ah, I remember then! Good times, too! Though I usually played COH or COD:WAW more back then. Hell speaking of, this makes me want to jump back into the COH space again right now. I’m getting quite old then. And I played so many games man, lol…

Dang, it’s a good thing Enlisted only has a cap of 10-15 players per match.

I miss pre console call of duties, they were good. First modern warfare, that could reach 50 vs 50 was wild.

Then then devs decided to normalize with xbox with CoD2 (2009). matches were 6 vs 6. They had to lower the quality soooo much…
