Making Stalingrad a better place #2

artillery system

Currently, Enlisted’s artillery system only has high-explosive bombardment, smoke grenade bombardment, and air bombardment requests.

Air bombing is covered in a previous post.

1. front artillery

More options are available in the squad menu.
Both formations were given mortars, light artillery, heavy artillery, and rocket artillery.

1A. mortar
a) A six-piece battery that fires 8 cm mortars.
You can request support every minute.
When you request support, a total of 12 high-explosives are dropped at the designated location.

b) A six-piece battery that fires 8 cm mortars.
You can request support every 30 seconds.
When you request support, 6 smoke shells are sprayed at the designated location.
This will come in handy when you need to quickly cover the enemy’s line of sight.

The Soviets use 82mm mortars.

1B. light artillery
A four-arm battery that fires 105mm howitzers.
You can request support every 2 minutes.
When you request support, a total of 8 high explosives and 1 observation round are dropped at the designated location.

In the case of the Soviet Union, it is a 107mm division gun.

1C. heavy artillery
A four-arm battery that fires 150mm heavy cannons.
You can request support every 4 minutes.
When a support request is made, four high-explosive rounds will strike at the same time in a wide area.

For the USSR, it is a 152 mm heavy gun.

1D. rocket artillery
One battery that fires 15cm Nephilwerppers.
You can request support every 4 minutes.
When you request support, 6 rockets will land in a wide area with a roaring sound.

In the case of the Soviet Union, it is a Katyusha battery, which fires 8 rockets.

2. Menu renewal

With more options added, we need to refresh the in-game menu.

Press 7 in-game to open the map.
You can select the artillery option with keys 1 to 4.
Mortar is set by default.

  • 1 => mortar
  • 2 => light artillery
  • 3 => heavy artillery
  • 4 => rocket artillery
  • 5 => Air bombing request

And, for turrets with more detailed options, you can press R to change the type of support you want.
High-explosive bombardment <=> Smoke grenade bombardment (if available)

3. How to fire the battery
By default, artillery fires when requested for artillery support.
However, if there is another request for support while the request is being processed, it will be rejected.
This is the same format as the current in-game.

For heavy artillery and rocket artillery, once you request assistance, you will have to wait at least 2 minutes. The remaining batteries can be immediately requested by others for assistance.

Hm… dude this not make stalingrad better is only a generic suggestion on an, asking to much, artillery rework

I know there are many requests for proposals.
But there is a suggestion section for that.

And, in the future, I plan to propose various fields (map, weather, mode, cutscenes) for Stalingrad.

Your title is

Stalingrad better

You talk about artillery rework
Understand? is a different argoument from the title

These are the things worth applying to Stalingrad.
And with this, Stalingrad will be a better place
Couldn’t find any problems with the title.

Maybe because you dont talk about stalingrad,but you talk about artillery

Artillery

Wo is used in “all campaigns” not only in stalingrad

So yes the title say a thing but you talk about another thing

The bolt action buff was only available in Stalingrad for a while.
The machine gun nerf only works in Stalingrad.
This is a system that could later be on other battlefields.
But what I’ve written here are the systems I’d like to add to Stalingrad.

Were?

You talked about a generic artillery rework wo can be added in all campaigns not only stalingrad

In testing now in all campaigns

Again your topic is not about stalingrad

People come here reading stalingrad and find a generic artillery rework post

Not like the planes are annoying enough…

I look forward to the other suggestions too. Maps for me are the biggest issue. Where are all the iconic locations?! Interesting squad variety would be cool too. I think it would be cool to have Hungarian squads for the Germans and partisans or armed factory workers that defended the tractor plant as well :).

Thanks for the various ideas. The next suggestion might be one of these topics.

The variety of options makes it a “real” battle.

I’ve said it many times
It doesn’t matter at all when and from which global they are added.
But I thought it would be good if this could be added to Stalingrad, and based on that, I wrote a suggestion.

Make stalingrad better?

  1. more maps and more diversity with objectives.
  2. make it sound and feel less empty, atm it feel like it’s just my team and the enemy one in the entire city.
  3. make level progression rewards more motivating, atm i can’t use half the stuff because f2p and the other it’s just not stimulating enough. One example… besides the Yak-7b that you get early on, the only bomber for a f2p player is the A20 Boston? REALLY? On the most iconic battle ever you’re gonna give a f2p player a US bomber? Why not an IL2? I don’t mind the reuse of models as long as the campaign is different.

Additionally, active snowing perhaps with winterized maps? Maybe not with the haze effect that occurs in Moscow, but sow flakes falling with winter conditions on the ground would be very atmospheric.

Stalingrad is not the place to suggest that.
Some objectives are too open that artillery is too effective there as is

I think it would be too… clunky, to choose the kind of support you want mid-battle (for an average player, at least).
It may be better option to show players in the menu/squad upgrade/modification screen of what are their options, and choose 1 or 2 of them.
But otherwise - yeah.

EDIT: By the way, it would be a good idea to add links to the other “Making Stalingrad a better place” threads.
