Making reporting bugs to a specific session (battle) more effective and efficient

Currently we just report a bug and try and give as much information as possible stating wich battle and what campaign ect., and if your a pc player you can provide a log for the devs to view it easier but console platforms dont have a way of doing this that i am aware of, wich is what gave me this idea.

A number could be assigned to each session (battle) and be posted at top of tally screen at the end of the battle.

A good way to apply this would be start with the day/month/year/session (battle) number of that day. This way the numbers dont get extremely large over time.

For example: BATTLE# 5.10.2022.1078

Explanation: 5th day in october in the year 2022 and it was the 1078th session (battle) streamed that day.

A 24 hour time stamp could also be added to the number to make it even more specific.

Likely you devs already have some type of numbering system that is applied to each session (battle), if so then it could be used instead of my suggestion, just have it displayed at the end of each session (battle) so it can be copied and posted in the bug report.

Anyone else have some ideas on how to streamline bug reporting and bug repair?

Hey! Thanks for bringing this up!
We actually have session id, it’s always displayed at the bottom of the screen.
It can also be copied to the clipboard by “ctrl + shift + e” hotkey, but we accustomed to manually extracting it from screenshots / videos. (:
Session id allows devs to retrieve and examine server logs of the session, but not client logs.
Sadly, we don’t automatically collect client logs, I think because it’s illegal (not sure) and/or requires additional infrastructure (probably not a big problem).
I’m not sure bug reporting should be “streamlined”. It may result in a massive torrent of useless bug reports. But maybe something can be done to help players share their logs easier, especially on consoles.

why I always post video of bug :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I found the session id at BOTTOM LEFT of screen (at least i think i did) it doesn’t say specifically “session id” but it must be it, i will start putting that SESSION ID in every bug report from now on!

As far as collecting client logs, i think thats probably not a good idea lol, it probably IS illegal lol

I haven’t found a easy way to post screenshots or videos from console platforms, is this possible and if so how?

Hi, i would like to post screenshots and videos but i haven’t found a easy way to post screenshots or video from console platforms, do you know how i could do this?

I’m not a console player/developer myself.
But I think there is no in-game functionality for that.
I guess, you have to use console-specific features to make and share screenshot or video.
I wonder, are there other games, where screenshot sharing is integrated into the game somehow.

It is easy to take screenshots and videos on console, i do it often, BUT i havent found a way to post them in the FORUM, could something in the forum be developed as to accept screenshots and videos from console platforms?

I put the video on my personal Youtube channel as “unlisted” then link it in the forum post.

Google Support gives these instructions to post video to YT from PS4.

Thanks, i dont have a personal you tube channel, but i’ll check it out
