Making Pacific a better place

Updated from last time, now that most players have all equipment from the day Pacific released.

First off Pacific is a pretty good chapter that was much needed for Enlisted’s Campaign Theatre, although the balance is pretty much hurting for the Japanese in terms of weaponry (Variations & Damage) against US Semis & Automatics, hopefully this can be balanced & readjusted to compete with the US. (Even though Japan suffered in reality after 1943)

Vehicles are okay but not suitable for the maps provided at launch it being about 60-70% ocean based & hard to really maneuver on land unless you got the LVT or Ka-Chi to go for a swim.

Now onto ideas we can dream of getting into the campaign. (Cue drum roll)

What I think should be added in the next major Pacific Part II Update is inland based Maps set in the dense jungles or peninsulas of Guadalcanal & other Pacific Islands filled with makeshift bunkers, encampments, with tunnels & caves, or railway bridges (New Armored Train Mode?), or even urban warfare like in the Philippines. Weather should also play a big part in this as well.

Vehicles that should be added that aren’t in the files as of yet. (To my knowledge at least, correct me if I’m wrong)

P40-E or F
(AVG Flying Tigers or Guadalcanal Hawks Skin/Paint job)

Ki43-II or III Otsu

Ki45 Hei or Otsu

Sōkō Sagyō Ki (Multipurpose IJA Flame Thrower Tank)

Ka-Mi (With floats)

Type 97 Motorcycle with Sidecar

Type 94 Lorry Troop Transport

Squads that should be added

Z Special Unit (Australian, New Zealand, UK, & Netherlands Special Forces Unit)

Chindits ( British & Indian Long Range Penetration Special Forces)

Special Naval Landing Force (IJN Special Forces)

Filipino Guerillas (Resistance Fighters)

IJA/IJN & US Uniform customization.

Palm Tree/Bush camo for Japanese (Like a cloak)

Hachimaki (Kamikaze) headband for Japanese Pilots

USMC HBT Cap ( In both olive drab & frogskin camo)

M1917 Doughboy Helmet for US

Camo face paint maybe?

Weapons/Equipment/Blades for both Factions

Type 99 Early (Short & Long)
Type 44 Calvary Carbine
M1928A1 Thompson with 20 or 30 round mag (Replacement for the M1A1)
Type 96 25mm AT/AA Gun (Replacement for the Flak 38 in game for Japan Engineers)
Type 1 47mm AT Gun for Japan (Replacement for the M1 AT Gun)
USMC KABAR
Bolo Machete
Katana (I think this was accidentally leaked)

(More to add soon)
Thanks, Frank.

I do agree that there are some QoL things that need to be addressed.
I still (as I’ve said elsewhere) think that the Pacific was launched by accident or misunderstanding vs scheduled.

That being said, yes, the Flak needs to go. It already feels somewhat out of place with US and Soviet Troops building it in their respective campaigns, but here in the Pacific its Alien to me. I never build it.
Not having the 47mm AT Gun for Japan too really is an odd choice, along with the (Late) 99 instead of the original. Much like the Pre-War 98k coming after the Wartime production. Odd decision.

For the Type Hei, it should have been given its 10Rd Box mag instead of 5, Its a bit of an Anemic Rifle and not on par with the US counterpart at all. Though mark my words, it will either come in a new Squad with the 10rd (potentially premium) and 20rd as a Japanese SF rifle for Late Campaign (They modded it late in the war to be Auto with 20Rds according to some articles I’ve read).

So far, beyond that, everything else seems to be working okay. I’m just past level 17 now and enjoying it with some small issues. I can already envision the future levels they will add to this and what weapons we will get. You can at times feel the divergence of the equipment and what its suited for, but I only feel a small advantage goes to the US Side. Japan played right can hold its own.

what do you mean by this? the m1c and type hei are very much on par, if not then type hei is outright better, as m1c has 15 rounds mag that shoots at a fixed 320 and does 8.8 maxed and it’s pretty bad on accuracy (about the same as VG1-5 at .55) while type hei gets a bayonet, 13 damage max and is the most accurate semi auto in this game at .25 without the upgrades

Instead of adding things devs should stop handholding the side with the worst players and just let shit players lose ffs

recent nerfs to japan should be reverted and they need to cap points faster, and get more tickets when doing so. gavutu confrontation is basically unwinnable as japan

Yea ive noticed the capture rate for US is just ridiculous.

really wish devs would start declaring a ‘test week’ kind of like the old betas but not locked behind a paywall, just so these sorts of balance issues can be tweaked pre-release instead of forcing to play these crap matches where wins are handed to bad players

Probably the feel of the rifle and perhaps getting used to it. I’ve had a Ton of experience with the M1, 2 campaigns worth to be exact (now 3 I guess).

I’ve had zero issues with the Carbine. Or any other Semi in the game for that matter. My experience was merely anecdotal, not based on imperical data. The Hei is taking a lot of getting used to for me. I only just unlocked the final tier upgrades for it but I’m out of bronze for now so I don’t know how it will feel when fully upgraded.

It does feel lacking in a brawl though, for me.
I’m not saying its bad, just giving my thoughts for it when comparing my abilities with each gun.
Its far from actual data sets on how effective they are.

Japanese need to deal with Sherman on later level, 6pdr have better penetration than it.

We’ll most likely be getting the M4A3 with the 105mm, slow reload, & bad turret traverse.

ah, but yeah jap guns are awkward to use at first but are really damn good when you get learn to use them which is also true for the type 11 which for me seems extremely accurate when using it as a semi auto rifle

Yeah but for now, the 47mm would be perfectly fine.
I hate how we use placeholders for weapons that could be made nation Specific if they just took some effort to try.

I’ve said in numerous other threads that having Engineers I , II, and III would be better served by having increasingly better AT Weapons as the campaign progresses.

I.e. Unlock the PaK 38 (Normandy) for Engineer I, then PaK 40 Engineer II ect ect

A much better way then one gun for all sides all the time (Some exceptions, as the US does use their 57mm in Normandy Vs a PaK gun, thank god).

There is also a m4a1 tank in game file.

I think at gun is better to be a thing to balance high level tank. Look at Moscow, if german didn’t have the pak38, they will be using pak36. Then they will be no chance for low level player to counter high level tank.

Yeah It was a bit of a mess playing Japanese at First. I was not fond of the Type 38 Carbines Sight Picture at all. The standard Type 38 was a bit better. The Type 1 reminded me enough of Tunisia / Stalingrad with their Bolts, but once I got the Type 99 (and wasted all my bronze fully upgrading them) I could really do some damage.

I have actually Grown to love and use the Type 11 as well. I think there was a lot of learning curve because it was different enough from all factions (playing both sides I might add) that I have had to adjust.
Hopefully, maybe, with a Hei fully upgraded it will feel better. Hopefully.

Also if you want better at gun at high level, there is type 90 75mm field gun.

This already is a thing in Normandy. Except there is no higher tier of AT gun to unlock. If handled correctly it could very well work just fine. I’ve literally just chilled in my StuG III while being pounded by 57mm and laughing about it. If they had access to a 90mm, I’d have been vaporized. Which is exactly what we need.

There will always be a disparity in levels of equipment. But having things to unlock to be more effective makes someone strive to progress. IMO.

That’s actually a way better option than the 47mm, thanks.

GIVE KA-CHI AT LEAST ONE F MG.
swimming is not st i want to do whole game, getting some kills would be nice
also when in water ka-chi is f uselees against infantry even more than on ground
Poor HE round splash force you to f snipe it
you need direct hit to do any damge
you miss cm=fu
Do it on water with waves when you shaking like f chihuahua dog
swimming ist good part of ka-chi at all

But I don’t think good at gun on high level will work well, because on most campaign at gun are used because starter tank is meh and it cannot pen the high level tank. Higher level player will rather spawn high level tank instead of building at gun.

Yea, bobbing up & down in the LVT or Ka Chi is fking annoying.
