Making gameplay more arcade will create more imbalance

People who advocate for faster gameplay has no idea what they want.
They claim it will attract more players but new player experience would be way more horrible.
Making games more fast paced and simpler results more imbalance between players.
If we make a spectrum between arma and doom, doom is the hardest for all newcomers in multiplayer.
Arcade games are easier to learn but lot harder to master.
A new player who started rising strom can still kill a guy with 1000 hours gameplay and gain significant amount of xp after his/her fist match.
A new player in doom who has been playing for just an hour becomes a mouse that must slay cats
This is why old school fps/arena shooters lost their popularity to game like cod, bf and halo in early 2000s.
But even that wasnt enough. So they brought sbmm but everoyone have had enought with it.
Making game slower paced and more complex actually helps new players

Hm, kind of makes sense. At least to some point.

I wonder if there are any studies about this.

By the way, why do they call casual games arcades?
This is what arcade games are to me. In other words, games like the ones you can find on arcade.

Enlisted is obviously a game to be played at home.

Said who? Aren’t you working at Blizzard by a chance?

Can it get more aracde though?
I also dont think that this

is true for Enlisted.
Enlisted is NOT a hard game by any means. People just make this game more harder when all it takes to be decent is to build rallies from time to time and flank-attack cps or defend cps… and yet even that is too hard even for people in the forum.
Heck, we don’t need MM. We need people to figure out why one soldier has a hammer in his slot.

I don’t think that’s what MergenTheWise is trying to say, he is worried about Enlisted becoming a game like CoD, where you just run around and play by reflexes.
In BR1 and 2 you can fight a reasonably good fight with your wits about you even with inferior equipment and reflexes, but in BR5 it is difficult, all the firepower is too strong and you win or lose the game the moment you meet.

The higher tier content tends to have too much firepower and become what he calls “arcade-like”, and the more content is added to the game after BR5, the more arcade-like it will become.

Will never happen, since majority of soldiers on battlefield are bots. You don’t need zoomer reflexes to deal with them.

Adam, its not very good at nitpik.
I am talking about human to human and not bot farming.

I actually rarely saw people want this game to become more fast paced.
In fact I literally saw multiple people claims that this game becomes faster paced than before and requires to slow it down.
I think you are one of them and just creating a strawman.
I think the pace is fine now just remain the current pace.

Arcade isnt CoD.

Some people underestimate rifles.

Enlisted isn’t only human to human, unless you are playing lone fighters. :man_shrugging:

But the OP’s assumption is.

That’s not the point.
The OP’s concern is not about players who can fight well, it’s about the hurdles for newbies to enter the game.

Yes, it is. Likewise, it’s not just PVE, is it?
In a game that has PVE and PVP, you are talking about PVE to me talking about PVP.
You do understand that there is no point to this discussion, right?

Who are these idiots? Gimme LONGER matches dang it!

Lmao
That’s literally what I am saying.
I am talking about both aspects, meanwhile you deliberately choose to highlight only pvp. Enlisted just isn’t all about pvp (unlike cod), deal with it.
You should get better at english.

I agree that discussion with ignorant people is pointless, bye. :man_shrugging:

How long would you want? Most matches are 20 minutes+ if it is not a stomp.

30-45 minute matches so I can rack up 200+ kills

Yes, I was the first to say this.

:point_up_2:This is to point out that you are either ridiculously stupid and incapable of reading a sentence, or, as usual, you want to show off by deliberately saying something misguided and embarrassing those around you.
You always act like a neglected child.

And I guess I wasn’t wrong.

I don’t think you want the same thing as OP.
If you just want the match to be longer to get more kill, you can just add more ticket to the attacker and increase the time needed to capture a point.
The slow pace OP are talking about usually means high ttk.

How can it become even more arcade than right now? Is that even possible?
