Making Enlisted a Better Place №70

Each issue of our series focuses on a certain aspect of the game or a particular mechanic, in which we correct smaller, but noticeable bugs and add new interesting features.

Balance changes

This update includes several tweaks that directly affect the flow of battles. We’ve improved the placement of certain spawn points in the Communist street West (Invasion), Univermag (Confrontation), Gogol street West (Invasion), Wald (Invasion) and Wald (Confrontation) missions.

Plus, we’ve also adjusted the time required to capture certain points in several missions to make fights more engaging and dynamic.

Pilots can now equip shotguns too. When they leave their vehicles, they won’t be as vulnerable as before and will be able to defend themselves.

Interface improvements

A search field has been added to the squad selection screen to help you find specific squads and vehicles used by one of your reserve squads. The search works for squad and regiment names as well as vehicle names too.

We have added a new special option for event weapons to the equipment filter. You can now find your rarest and favorite guns more easily and jump into battle even faster!

AI commander adjustments

We’ve adjusted the equipment of soldiers used by AI commanders in battles. In low BR battles (I-II and II-III), you can now only meet AI commanders whose soldiers are using weapons up to BR II, while in high BR battles (III-IV and IV-V), they are now limited to BR IV and below. AI commanders can still utilize flamethrowers in all BRs.

This means that you can no longer encounter AI squads armed with BR III weapons in BR I-II battles anymore, which previously led to situations where you could have thought that you encountered a player who somehow tricked the matchmaker.

Additionally, we have significantly expanded the wardrobe of soldiers used by AI commanders. Now they are dressed more diversely, which makes each soldier on the battlefield more unique.

Other changes

  • Anti-tank guns no longer continue to move when switching from “march position” to “combat position”.
  • Fixed the flickering shadows on the ground under certain weather conditions.

all very nice changes.
truly.

however

i feel like this is not enough.

AI commanders should be able to use optimal squads.
and above all, the same amount of troopers if not more to increase their efficency and give a bit more of scale of battle.

i can testify that a 20v20 with all AI using 12 men squad is stable enough for console.

but that could be a bit extreame.
base point is though, watching them use a sniper squad with 3 dude, or engineer with 4 soldiers of which, only one is an engineer is hardly effective.
doesn’t make a whole lot of sense that you see belt fed machineguns or stg45 everywhere either.

they should have a realistic yet semi historical loadout.
but that’s just me.

… or maybe i should make a suggestion about it to be eventually forwarded.

Does the search also work for weapons? Ie finding a certain weapon that is equipped.

Bring back the days when the AI could use emplacements on any map

they still can use them though :slight_smile:

but they only use ones next to objectives.

and for players AI to use said machineguns, they have to be next to it.

I was hoping for significant changes. The ability for a pilot to carry a shotgun might have been requested, but it’s clearly not what people are expecting from an update.
Not a word about the reduced weapon drop rate or that it will be rebalanced in future crates. Right now, the chance to get the hammer with barbed wire is over 8%.
The chance of getting a skin from the Halloween event is over 40%.
Where’s the work on lighting in Velde? Why are the TO, Burma, and Steel Mill maps in Normandy still not optimized?
Overall, a very underwhelming patch note, in my opinion.

Thank you for forwarding the issue with shotguns!

I spent a total of 1,220,000 silver coins on the box this time, and I only got one gun, an MP40 silencer squad, an AT44 squad, a French partisan semi-automatic rifle, and the rest is all garbage, and I have died of pain

half million got me:
a NKVD knife
a US nickel M1911
a Mosin in bandages
Jagdpanzer IV vehicle
3x decals
(and too many boosters)

The drop rates felt really trash now.

I don’t understand why my odds are so low, I still have a lot of squads left in my chest

I’ve been playing for about a year now. In that time, I’ve managed to get 4 squads out of the boxes, with dozens more left. I don’t think I’ll be able to get them all while the game is still live.
The chances of getting a squad should increase. I also hope they take a look at this offer:

I feel a lot of these improvements were well needed and are a step in the right direction. However, I just have one question:

(When) will the MKb 42(H) be downtiered the BR IV?
