With the repair change frontline tanking got needlessly harder as you cant recover from mistakes anymore without being exposed to the entire enemy team.
My suggestion is to buff tanks with buffs that should only affect their close range performance (unlike the repair nerf to adress impenetrable greyzone tanks by a tiny bit).
Give smoke to all the tanks that should have them.
The panzer 2 F is stalingrad for example is a close range tank already modelled with smoke launcher but they cant be used. Same for the smoke generators placed on the track guard as already pointed out in a topic ages ago.
German tanks tended to be overengineered so why dont we get the benefits of that?
Add the Nahverteidigungswaffe for those tanks that had those. A short range greande launcher built into the roof to lob and airburst small HE grenades at nearby enemies closing in or just additional smoke.
Make explosive packs less effective agains tracks/ tracks more durable to reduce the risk of a mobility kill from failed explosive packs.
I am fully awear that many players wont read what i suggested and will just complain about greyzone tanks while defending those changes pushing tank away from the front instead of closer but please keep it civil.
Any how should a flamer tank in the greyzone work? And why should they “just die”?
Greyzone camper arent fun or interactive for anyone and infantry AT capabilities were still mostly shit during WW2 why should every soldier be able to just shit on them like that?
I don’t know about making tracks stronger, but I’d love to see tanks get all their capabilities modeled in game. I’d add that they should get ai gunners manning their machine guns like aircraft currently have.
It would also be cool if crew members could call out close-in threats or tanks as they spot them.
Germans already have a lot pf benefits. I’d better see Americans and Soviets get more survivability and damaging to infantry. Overall, vwhicle-infantry balance is a question not just about functions. It requires vast overhauls like number of AT means, their damage, ways of defending infantry from getting under tank firing etc. These were discussed few times, hope devs will manage it
That’s a cool suggestion. Can you explain your idea more deeper?
Like: infantry 15m away, crew says “infantry nearby, watch out!” Stuff like that?
Yeah that’s just what I was thinking: if enemy infantry gets close enough they’ll yell out a warning, and do the same if an enemy tank enters their line of sight from within a reasonable distance.
It would really be cool if they could call out a direction relative to the tank, but I’d be happy with something generic too. Something to give you a chance to react when you’re looking the other way.
The devs did say in one of their posts they intend to make it to where you can repair internal components without needing to leave the vehicle, so you have that to look forward to.
Personally, I think taking out tracks is about all that explosive packs should be able to do. What they should NOT be able to do, is outright kill tanks.
THAT is the role that AT soldiers, AT mines, and TNT charges, are for.
Lastly, I believe there is another big change coming that will change the dynamic a bit further (for the better). Something that will cause more players to be carrying toolkits to begin with, which they can then use to help friendly tanks that are disabled and in distress.
After all, if you notice: when equipped within the game, toolkits now display with the name “engineer toolkits”.
I really do believe my suggestion is on its way, and boy is it going to change things drastically.
I’m just saying my tanking styles have remained exactly the same after the repair update. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m not OCD about taking damage. As with many things I’m fluid during a battle. Sometimes I’ll charge alongside infantry, sometimes I’m hanging back, it all depends on the flow of the battle. With this new repair system I’ve never been scared to charge because hey the tanks got a job to do
But on a side note yes we should have all proper smoke grenades and it would be cool to have German tank grenade launchers
Imo explosive packs should do exactly this, immobilise the tank, maybe take out the turret ring but not destroy the tank.
This way every soldier will be able to knock out a tank from short-medium range but to destroy it player will have to either get close to plant TNT or get a specialised squad with long range AT weapons.
dont mass buff tanks
-some tanks already kill +100 per match
-buff tanks ofteen perform bad instead of buffing all.
-balance a bit more tanks, we have tanks have good/bouncing armor, alot of ammo, few heat or no heat, several options of ammo, fast enough to reach battle, fast shooting, more crew equiped with smg against slow tank, bad armor, no penetration, heating alot and others bad stats;
-raise statistics and bonus squads/tanks/planes that perform poorly. Sincerally we dont need mass buff to certain class. We need understand and buff things are performing too badly.
-Sugestion: if buffing certain tanks is bad idea , maybe give bad performers one/two different double class unit, maybe tanker/enginner , tanker/radioman instead of only tank/“assaulter”.
tanks should be removed from the game they last 2 mins until some one can run through mg fire and the main gun n kill it
also why every game this one guy with a mg which heads for the spawn area n kills every one in it every time their rank5 lvls above every one the game is so unbalanced that ya have pvts sgts v majors to generals and marshals ya just canon fodder for these guys 150 -140 kills artillery hits kils dozen at a time they have unlimited artillery their bo break between them
I’m lucky to kill 2 before wiped out by bombers and actually get out of the spawn area and tanks no one helps protect tanks so why bother use em
Thats pretty much what happened and still to this day happens once tanks decides that
“Im a tank I can do what ever the fk I want” and drive into enemy infantry.
A) Large scale tank warfare was really only seen first in WWII so most nations lacked to tool to counter tanks in the field outside of calling in arty and hoping for the best like in WWI and the infantry born AT was terrible until the dedicated laucher were created and distributed or an AT gun was in use. So infantry was nowhere near as deadly to tank as the average rifleman in enlisted equiped with more explosive mass than some demo specialists in WWII. All sides could not afford to give everyone 2kg explosive bundles for the offchance that it might have been usefull at some point when they couldnt even fully equip everyone with just the basics.
B) what happens today does not reflect what happened in WWII were everything was a bit more primitiv you know. Just because people today had 50+ years to develop AT warheads for max penetration(and more important tactics and training) does not mean they had the same in WWII…
C) Tank fright was real as the average squad just wasnt equiped to deal with tanks reliably and improvised measures were very risky.
Sure, same goes both ways.
Once you are immobilized without infantry support you are doing nothing else except waiting to die.
Not exactly doing all that fury sht.
Or hopping out of tank in middle of gunfight and switch the tracks with few fast sweeps of wrench.
I dont know what exacly you are refering to with it but during the winter war russia had huge supply and moral problems and suffered from gurrilia style ambushes which even today would make everything perform terrible.
Not sure what you want to tell me with that badge as it doesnt mean anything really. Yes infantry could kill tanks but that still doesnt mean tanks should die to every single rifle man just by looking at it + the badge was given out for the entire war so every single panzerfaust would have contributed to the number so it kind off is void.
Pretty much what happens to tanks once they are without infantry support even the most crude weapons such as molotovs did the trick.
Quite unlike considering faust came in action ~43 ?
As well as idk how fausts were issued to special AT troops that were ineligible for reward or just generally to everyone.
If for everyone fine, il just add faust to every soldier.
The very same article you mentioned never said it was discontinued.
Just check the wiki on the badge and the german one mentions explicitly that Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck are eligable. And the panzerfaust was commonly issue to normal infantry so they are certainly eligable.
