Make the samurai armour reduce melee damage

I was going to suggest making the samurai armour as resistant as soviet body armour, but then I realised thats really silly. Instead the samurai armour should reduce melee attack damage by 50% . This way it’s pretty useless but it means the wearer can resist a bayonet stab once.

maybe…

Cosmetics shouldn’t have mechanical impact on the gameplay.

But the russians? I also kinda like that “cosmetics” have impact. It’s just another layer of depth really like choosing which grenade to use. Helmets give you some added protection over a cap currently and i truly think its a great mechanic. Would of thought people like you would like it because…realism. it’s not just a cosmetic, it’s a piece of you’re equipment. Most people are probably butt hurt over the fact that russia has the body atmor, however they really did use it where as other nations not really. I think it’s a fair “bias” here. Have other thoughts on their other stuff though

Russian bias

That’s my issue. I’m not against the idea of armor itself, I’m against “hiding” items as cosmetics. Cosmetics, as the name suggests, should be only visual.

Sadly enlisted doesn’t have systems or rules, only groups of exceptions.

Personally I dislike it as it’s a straight up buff for soviets. If it had some downsides then I’d be ok with it, but it’s a no brainer upgrade.
And no, lack of cammo is not a downside in a game about running straight at the enemy and with a very strong kill cam.

Of course not Soviet body armor either. Russians can’t live without Stalinium.

Then maybe we should petition for it to reduce sprint speed. Seems pretty realistic and reasonable?

Then at least it wouldn’t ve biased.
But it’s still technically a cosmetic.

I don’t really think of it as being cosmetics though. And really isn’t labeled as such. Every item does for the most part have an effect, not all are strong like the body armor, but camo can be just as valuable. If you dress up in all white and run down a dirt road you’ll stick out like a sore thumb. I think you just need to get this “cosmetics” idea out of your head and see it for something else. The only true cosmetics there are is the different faces and maybe the gloves as they dont really contribute to a camo outfit that much.

It’s bought with “appearance orders” so it’s hard to not consider it cosmetics.

Cammo is visual only. It does have gameplay impact but no mechanics. That’s what separates items from visual customization, no mechanics.

See point 1
Look, I don’t make the rules, I just follow them. Devs make the rules and they suck at it.

Yes it’s labeled as appearance. By definition it means what a soldier looks like or how he’s dressed. (Helmets, camo, body armor, etc)

This is the main point where we see it differently. Will use U.S. soldiers as example. They did not use body armor at all. They only used camo/uniforms. Why should a uniform that’s purely cloth give some sort of a mechanical advantage? Their helmets still give protection bonus though which makes sense.

And used in separate “shop” under “APPEARANCE” tab, rather than from regular shop where the guns and sht is.

What do you think appearance means?

Would it make you feel better if helmets and camo were bought under the equipment tab? Lol it’s just how their current U.I. works. It’s not an MMO RPG game that gives you slots for your fantasy armor.

You tell me

Sure, as bodyarmor that grants something beyond just appearance isnt really cosmetic as it should be.

In terms of a person, Appearance can mean anything that’s attached or worn. It can also refer to a person’s physcial traits or features.

In normal games you have appearance that doesn’t have gameplay mechanics and you may have items that do have gameplay mechanics and additionaly have appearance.

Unfortulately enlisted is retarded special and items don’t have appearance but appearance has mechanics. Because enlisted is not like the other girls.
(Sometimes I wonder if devs do play any other games at all. It could save a lot of time spent on reinventing the wheel.)

Personally I’d want to fix this mess instead of adding more of it. But I already know what will happen and I don’t like it.

To be fair if you don’t select a different uniform the ammo bags, grenade pouches, backpacks, and medic bags have an appearance. So do parachutes.

We could go down a rabbit hole here with adding mechanics to the outfits, like the one with extra mags on vest could replace the ammo pouches. One with grenades give extra grenades etc. This would require a total rework of the upgrade system and just dont see it happening anytime soon. But yes, it would ultimately be better

And helmets? Those too?

No. Ive mostly played germany and this helmet buff is insane.
Everytime I die to headshot im like “thank god im now 10% less dead, thanks to this awesome helmet. Good thing we dont have that body armor instead”

What does playing Germany have anything to do with it? ALL metal helmets in game give a bonus beyond being a cosmetic. You literally just said you should have to buy such items. Always contradicting yourself
