Make the BR "soft rule" more strict

It’s really really not fun when you play as BR1 or 4 and you have to face BR3/5 players, which is full of infinitley better equipment then your own.doing this will allow a more enjoyable time of playing with equipment similar to your own only for maybe a bit longer queue times.

No. Less strict. The challenge is part of the fun. The grindstone to work against

either make it so they don’t cross boundaries, or remove the damn system entirely and base it off of fronts and years.

I’m for this idea, I never liked the “soft up-tier”. And the fact that it’s not plain to see with newer players to the game it kind of kills their experience as well. You’re moving through the tech tree you unlock that first gun from BR 2 and equip it. Well now your full on in BR 2 regardless of if your other squads are still Early or Mid BR 1. Oh, and you’ll get matched up with BR 4 as well, good luck with that early war tin foil Panzer 2 that you didn’t upgrade yet. Hope you like looking at the squad select screen cause that’s where you’ll be most of the match.

I can get behind punching up a single tier of BR. Like BR 1 fights BR 2, BR 3 fights BR 4, and with the current system BR 4 fights BR 3/5 because odd numbers right. Yes, if you do the same thing and equip that first BR 4 item your now full on into it with possibly fighting BR 5s, but I think at the tail end of BR 3 your more knowledgeable and better equipped to somewhat deal with BR 5 if you get put in a match with them. You also have more of a chance to be fighting BR 3 because that’s the original tiered system of fighting. Would it make BR 5 wait times longer because they are only really facing other BR 5s with a possibility to have BR 4s in the match I don’t think so, but I do think it would make matches more competitive.

If the devs start to see more BR 4s saying that they are getting more matches with BR 5s than anything what they could do is open up another tier of BR 6. I mean there’s still plenty of source material and schematics out there that this game hasn’t touched that can make a new tier and still be 100% WW2.

@Wayvez

Thank you for your post gasmasters.

I fully agree.

Yesterday I had three games in a row at BR III Allies against BR V Japan and Germany.

It was horrid. Not in any way enjoyable or playable and my squadmate quitted (I dont blame him).

The Japanese team were somehow allowed to park their truck RIGHT NEXT TO the big house (objective) on one of the Pacific maps. It was way less then the usual 50 metres or so where spawns are not allowed.

But anyway it was bolt action .303s and 20 round BARA2s against whole teams of MG42s, STGs etc.

As usual the playerbase claims this is a “skill issue”. (I could use the Garand which is BR III but it sucks, plus British and Australian soldiers used .303s for the whole war anyway)

Frankly it shouldnt matter about player ability BR III is BR III and BR V is BR V.
BR V players also tend to be more experienced than BR III.

As Lthiddensniper said, whats the point of having the BR system at all if it only works “sometimes”?

Regarding early and late war I do cringe when I see Japanese with a Nashorn rip off and assault rifles when that just didnt happen, certainly not in 1942 Solomon Islands.

There have been various posts about this and enough is enough. Like War Thunder the devs need to get through their heads the technology and experience gap widens after each BR.

Like the gap from BR I to BR II isnt that big, but BR II to BR III is a pretty big change (thats a Sten gun VS an MG34). III to IV likewise a pretty big jump and BR III to BR V is massive.

BR V is a silly BR of very late war weapons and BS prototypes. Its whole squads of soldiers with assault rifles when in real life the average German rifleman would have still been using a Kar98k. Not to mention the big heavy tanks and so forth.

Its been said before, I say it again here. BR V needs to be its own thing for very experienced players to play COD with their M2s and STGs and fantasy prototypes.

BR III should fight BR III, BR II fight BR II. etc.

BR III could fight BR IV, though I think a fair number of BR IV weapons could just be distributed to BR III or BR V.
Like the M1941 Johnson, there’s zero reason that cant be a BR III weapon except DF needed to give USA a BR IV rifle.

I wouldn’t make the BR soft rule more strict, “I WOULD GET RID OF THE WHOLE DAMN THING!” One would think that the sheer amount of people who complain about it that DF would finally address it and fix it. “We don’t have enough players”. Does it matter, people get frustrated, desert and we’re playing with bots anyway, might as well give the people what they want while doing it.

This is just an intelligence test
nothing bad
If you just want to play where nothing can threaten you
Then I suggest you play custom mode

The biggest problem with the level system is that there will be a large number of so-called abusers of high-level equipment.
These groups will only use a very small number of advanced weapons or advanced squads to poison teammates in environments that are not in line with their capabilities.
And then cry about the massacre they suffered in high-level environments

This is why hierarchy is rubbish
Because the equipment level is not equivalent to the player’s intelligence and ability
The result of implementation is also obviously harmful to the environment.
What players really need is an ability system
