Currently when we drive a tank, we don’t control the crew but the machine spirit itself.
Imo it would be nice to change this and coppy a thing or two from the game called Red Orhestra 2.

Some suggestions to make tanks behave more like they have a bunch of ppl inside:
Commander orders
When I press W etc., commander should yell an order “forward” and after 1-2s delay, tank should start moving. Same with choosing shells and all other things.
The delay doesn’t apply if you control the soldier performing the action (so no delay while driving as a driver etc.).
Also some modifications to maps may be needed so it’s easier for tanks to manouver and not get stuck.
Loading shells
This one should be possible to turn on/off in the settings.
It would be nice to have an option to not load a shell to the gun.
Cupola view
Instead of using scroll wheel to navigate periscopes, allow us to use free look (0:14s of the video).
When player presses aim button, he is zoomed to the periscope he is looking at (!you still can see through periscopes without using the zoom!).
Of course fully modeled interior would be nice but it’s a lot of work and it’s not necessary. Black void is good enough.
Alternative commander controls
This one should be possible to turn on/off in the settings. Personally I’d make it standard but I expect notable amount of ppl to not like this.
Commander is in a free look by default, when holding aim / pressing fire button, an order is given, gun aims at the location / and then fires (0:45s of the video).
Hull machine gunner
In command wheel there should be 3 options to chose from (similarly to stances for infantry squads):
manual - hull MG can be fired only by the player
AI - hull MG fires automatically only
hybrid - if player can’t aim the MG (for example some russian tanks have MGs on the back of the turret), it’s AI controlled
Also imo all this should apply to T-28 turrets as well. But I guess it’s for another discussion.
Crew spotting
If a crew member can see the center of mass of an enemy tank or a group of 3+ enemy infantry, player should get some kind of autio and visual notification.
I fully expect some of those things are impossible due to the game engine.
Imo those changes would make tanks more fun and immersive. So player can feel he is commanding a tank crew and not some magical device with its own consciousness.
Though all this may also be a nerf to tanks so keep that in mind.
I have a feeling a lot of ppl will complain about all this being unnecessary and a “huge nerf” to tanks.
But I don’t care. I want cool things, even if they are not “efficient”.
Main feature of enlisted is AI squads the players control.
I’d say making tanks feel like they have a crew (aka squad) inside is fully in line with this.
Though imo devs don’t utilize the full potential of AI squads and treat them more like a canon fodder which is a shame.
And please explain me how this will magically make tanks boring? Because you need to wait 1s? Or because you can’t wiggle back and forward to “avoid” shots? Or because of voice lines? Or because you have actually good observation devices? Or because you have fully functional hull MG?
So adding 1s delay to tanks makes the whole game a simulator? Wow.
Because there is totally not a milion other things that still make the game casual.
When I play a tank, I want it to behave like a tank. No matter if the game is casual, milisim, or a city builder. And since we have damage model ported from WT, I assume tanks are meant to be somewhat realistic. Otherwise they would have simple HP system.
Enlisted has a squad system for infantry so imo tanks should be in line and also behave like they have a crew. Simple as.

Also imo that’s where enlisted would shine. Being casual but with realistic mechanics.
Red Orchestra 2 was amazing.
I loved tank gameplay and I still remember the first time I playedas a tank crew. I was so nervous about getting orders in real time that I stopped when commander said: “now we are making a good time”.
making the bots have specail voice lines like ytou said: when moving like pressing w, the driver says “Foward!” and such voicelines would be MORE than enough to make them more human, making tanks have NERFS for ACCURACY is WAY TOO OVERDONE!, like making moving be delated!, and being able to disable putting shells?, what?, IS A LITERAL BATTLE!, THEY WILL PUT SHELLS BECAUSE IS NECESSARY!, the cupola is good, we need that!, altough not the same way as the gasme obv, make it just be a free style type like you said, not scroll wheel.
like i said only the voicelines and the other things i said is enough accuracy and emergianon, any other stuff IS UNESSACRY!, like alternative commands, too complicated and unnessacry since is A BATTLE, you command your tank, thus they LISTEN AND DO, no need for alternative commands, no need for unessacry cahgnes, absoultly no need for number 5.
I guess if maps were more vehicle friendly, you wouldn’t need accurate movement to not get stuck on some random brick.
There are plenty of situations where I don’t know what type of shell I’ll need in the next 5min. Shooting to change it is a waste of my limited ammo and gives away my position.
Also I suggested it to be optional so I don’t see an issue.
I don’t think pressing a button “aim the canon there” is too complicated. Though I guess it may be a bit slow in some cases.

That’s my issue. You command your tank while you should command your crew that operates the tank.
People are not a hivemind, they can’t do stuff instantly. Though I guess it’s a whole other discussion when does the game get too realistic.
beautiful I would also like this then I don’t know if you noticed but initially when you were in the tank and you pressed the button to change ammunition the operator spoke and communicated it they no longer put it like when they removed the fast option from the pie menu yes no they get lost in a glass of water sometimes however the game suffers from an obvious texture streaming problem
people are a hivemind when they are DOING teamwork, a squad is a hivemind because they OBEY and LISTEN, is thier job and is ALSO necessary for their survival in battle!

Ppl will never be hivemind. Extensive training and experience can make communication and actions more efficient but never 100% efficient.
Though in the game there is a perfect world with super soldiers etc. so I guess you are kind of right.
I don’t say they need this. I just say it would be cool and less robotic.
This seems more like you’re complaining for the sake of complaining.
I’m a very casual player myself and I would welcome some more dynamic interactions inside a tank to make it more exciting and fun to play with.
Right now it’s just a point and click simulator. I could see those features work. And the shell option is awesome, imo. That’s something the IS-2 would really benefit of, for example.
