Lets face it, high BR snipers are primarily used as some sort of marksman instead of sniping AND are expected to join the assault whenever the team is on the attack mode. So to help them at least a fighting chance in maps like Berlin and Normandy lets give them scopes that don’t exceed 4x magnification. German snipers not using Kar98k should get ZF-4 with 4x zoom, not make believe ZF-4 with 8x zoom. US snipers using M1C Garand should also get 2.5x zoom.

No, there’s literally no need for that. I always use snipers for sniping.
And if I’m forced to use cqc, I am always your hip firing.
If you lack the skill to do so, you can always take a second sniper rifle without a scope.

I constantly be the first in the cap racking hundreds of kill by the end of the match using Sniper FG-42 II. However, ZF-4 is 4x and should be 4x instead of 8x.
Go ahead compare long range sniping using Kar98k and Sniper FG 42 II and tell me which gun suits long range sniping better

i see no place for semi autos the way they are.
They are far superior at killing group of enemies in short period of time, BAs are simply too slow.

And what’s not effective about SF sniper? The need for hitting the same target twice?
I still prefer this over just 5 slow shots (cuz bolt cycling), following with ultra slow reload because you have to load each round individually (in case of weapons like Kar).
It’s just a matter of getting used to it.

Since we can swap scopes, devs could just give the option to put both options for those weapons. Both 4x and 8x.

Actually now that you say it, since all semi autos turn from a “1 hit kill” to a “2 hit kill” at medium range, there actually is a rather niche combat distance where a scoped STG in single fire has more use than a scoped G43.
So you are pretty right about this.
That being said, a bit better accuracy for those guns would be appreciated in my mind.

3.5-5x zoom is my preference over high powered optics, but I don’t think this is a good solution.
Instead, I think players should be able to select from a range of optics in the menu like how you can put on or remove a bayonet.

If it was truly an insult, the moderators would have deleted it just like the insults your manipulation provoked towards me.
Not everyone can fire effectively from the hip when there is no crosshair in the game. So it is obvious that you need some skill for that.
And if someone is lacking such skill, I suggested that such person can simply take second sniper rifle without scope.
That’s all.
Btw. I think sniper class should be focused primarily about sniping. That’s why I basically always use the class only as defender.
Majority of time just camping on obejctive or somewhere very close (if it’s Stalingrad and I can climb a building and so).
It’s not my fault his weapon of choice for storming objectives is sniper variant of FG (BR5 sniper with 8x multiplier).
And then he complains that he wants a lesser zoom…
Not to mention that the Germans already have the answer for such a playstyle. And it’s the MkB 42.
I don’t see why we should lose the only German BR5 Sniper rifle that has an 8x zoom.
No need, just take your sniper dudes and get them two sniper rifles. Take the scope off one and you have an assaulter/rifleman who can also snipe. My level five German sniper squads use the StG44 as their base weapon and the FG42 II as their sniper rifle. Sometimes I incorporate three sniper squads in a battle. I do the same with my level three Allies and Russians.

it’s not my fault DF decided to give me claustrophobic attacker map whan i equipped my fave gun. but it is DF fault for not giving ZF4 their 4x zoom
this conundrum needn’t to exist if DF decided to stop being mentally deficient and give 4x scopes, well, 4x magnification
