In Berlin, SVT and G43 were available at level 7, next to MP 40 and Mosin, but were comparable in power to pre-nerf FG 42, just with less mag size. You could outgun an assaulter up-close and be as accurate with each shot as a BA user, but with higher fire rate.

if you played good, you were equal to Assaulters - which was absolutely a good thing though - however you didn’t have the squad wipe potential of SMGs. You traded that for having bigger effective range.
Semi autos without that stupid dispersion and rate of fire nerf would actually be the best thing for the game in terms of getting rid of the full auto meta.

Semis were op back then in 2022, but now there is little point in using them.
At least some power needs to be restored to full caliber semis like G43/SVT, otherwise full auto rifles and even BA at lower BRs are a better choice.

Give it to the radio officer or the anti tank troop inside the premium APC and whatever other automatic you can slap on that crew they can make some interesting things
Why, when I can simply give them avt40 instead?
Bigger magazine and if you’ve seen the AI and APC they shoot everything and if anyone gets hit by it they’re not getting back up
